Do HDMI Cables make a Difference?

Will I get a better picture using a higher priced HDMI cable over a Wal Mart brand? Thanks!

I have been using Audioquest Cinnamon hdmi cables and before that I used Monster cables. I have tried many different cables and they look different and definitely sound different.
$$$ cables and tweaks in general, may or may not make a noticeable improvement in your gear. Depends on the cable and use. Try to stay with something returnable in the event that you either don't see or hear real improvement or it's marginal and hence not worth the extra cost........Sadly a LOT of ridiculous sales hype out there. Trust what you see and hear in your own system.............If I worked for me and I love it, but doesn't work for you..........well, it doesn't work for you, take it back.

Yah, it would be a fool of me to expect a serious response of a troll. Thy shall not feed the troll lol.

>>>>That reminds me. Does anyone know some Little Moron jokes?
I repeat - reggie is not a whacko. 🙄

Does someone who repeats the same thing over and over again necessarily have 🍑🍔🍔? You decide. Is reggie the new Euro-nator?
I am trying an Audioquest HDMI cable that only cost about $20.00. It has a 30 return so if I dont like it or see a difference I will send it back. Thanks for all the help and some interesting posts! Any more advice will be welcome!  Thanks!
@rsaI

I thought I had good HDMI cables until a friend gave me an Audioquest Forest HDMI when I upgraded my TV to 4K UHD OLED with HDR.  My Blu-Ray was having problems maintaining the HDR signal and the Forest had 18Gbs speed and the problem went away BUT then I decided to replace all my HDMI's and found Monoprice Premiums with same specs for like $ 12.99 each.  Installed on everything and really improved the picture from my Roku Ultra's and on my PS Audio equipment using the I2S connects.   Saved and fortune and got kickbutt results.

Happy watching / listening. - Shad

@nonoise actually the * was not to be put in place for swearing, rather the intention was to deceive the filters for picking that word up :) Didn't make a difference anyway...

@rsa accept suggestions, just take them with a grain of salt. There is quite a lot of audiofoolery around here when people could be saving a ton of money.

Nope no conspiracy guy, let me clarify whether they are truly scammers or not. Didn’t know they were around for decades, however from my research I’ve done while deciding on audio components they surely have duped people for decades!

All I suggest if you do end up buying from them anyway just don’t fall for their +$100 line up, remember this is the same company selling a variety of HDMI cables up to the $900

There’s a reason for the wide variety, it’s to achieve a variety of cash flows. Just don’t be naïve to fall for this kind of stuff at that price range, do your own independent research and form your own opinion.

@mickeyb what kind of audioquest cables did you end up purchasing and they’re price ranges? Not to concern you, but depending how much you spent you could be a victim of sales tactics and marketing hype- not being sarcastic there really is an unfortunate amount of people that overspend to make zil difference in the end for performance.

@geoffkait nice asshat insult for me, quick look at your profile and 10,000+ troll posts it really is kind of a shame on the precious time you’ve wasted being a keyboard warrior. Nice website also, with your info publicly available, can I phone your cell to hear what you sound like in person?
That link you referenced was the same that someone else did who was somewhat of a whacko who flew off the handle, repeatedly, and seems to have been banned. Right off the bat you're cursing (using * in place of a letter doesn't lessen a thing) and decrying things that needn't be.
Chill out some and you'll fit in.

All the best,
Nonoise
@reggy...…………………………

AudioQuest has been around for decades.  Seriously doubtful they are scamming anyone.  You sound like one of those "conspiracy" people.
Let’s try this again, after they removed my post for reference for the link.^^

Not sure what HDMI cable to choose but don’t fall for Audioquest they’re a s*cam company. Just google "Audioquest Carbon HDMI Cable fraud and you’ll see". At least for that HDMI cable. Google the user that recommended that and you’ll see he’s a fraud too.

I’m sure if you’re looking into HDR and dolby I would second Belkin too for a choice of product.
Depends on what you're using just get a belkin ultra high speed, it suports Dolby vision HRD and bandwidth  up to 48 gbs so it work with whatever TV  and source you're using plus it's only about $30.

I didn’t compare HDMI cables but kind of knew what I wanted and after some mulling it over bought an Audioquest Carbon HDMI Cable, controlled for directionality and with silver content in connectors, and have been rather pleased with the picture quality. 😀

I use a Wireworld Silver Starlight 5.2 HDMI to excellent effect. I bought it new/unused on a clearance sale several years ago. It is much better than the $40/50 models from Best Buy.  Much will depend on your TV set and expectations/applications.
