To be specific, "impedance" is a frequency-dependent reading of resistance. The impedance is different at different frequencies, so to be completely useful, the frequency or the range of frequencies should be stated, but most often is not stated. "Resistance" is a DC quantity, implies that resistance is constant at DC.
Coil vs. Cart impedance
I have searched and cannot find the answer...my assumption is these are the same?
I've just bought a new cart Clearaudio cart that has a Cart impedance of 50 ohms (no recommended loading) and my previous cart spec. was Coil impedance 5 ohms recommended loading 100-1000 ohms.
My guess is on paper the CA should be loaded 250-500 ohms. Just trying to get set in the ballpark while I break it in.
I've got a GoldNote PH-10 so lots of options.
Thank you.
