Coil vs. Cart impedance

 “On paper” your cartridge should be loaded with 500 ohms or higher. However, whatever floats your boat.

Use  whatever sounds the best.

Impedance and resistance mean the same thing in this context (but often not in others). Yes, your Clearaudio is on the high side for an MC. You’d typically want to load it starting at 500 ohms and above.

To be specific, "impedance" is a frequency-dependent reading of resistance.  The impedance is different at different frequencies, so to be completely useful, the frequency or the range of frequencies should be stated, but most often is not stated. "Resistance" is a DC quantity, implies that resistance is constant at DC.
