Right.

No I need to put the coax connection back into the dac, it pulled out when I pulled the cable out.

Usually these are cheap fixes.  Desolder the original jack, purchase replacement, solder back in.

The hard part is case disassembly and circuit board removal.  Any tech could do it.

Sorry I wasn't clear, it's just the outer portion . The gold sleeve. 

You could just use a decent usb cable , if not willing to spend $2-300 for a tech ,

to fix it.

ANY local computer repair person could fix it. If you take the cover off, and call 1st, they can probably do it while you wait.

Often the gold outer part is just press fit onto the Jack pack. You really need to twist as you try to remove “high retention” audiophile RCA plugs…thanks, Noel Lee! If you can remove the part from your RCA plug without deforming it, you will see the toothed legs that hold it in place. Just push it back on. That’s it! Fixed.
