Just saw this thread, one year later... I've heard them all, and his best by far IMO is "Live at the Village Vanguard." A total classic. Just one of the slowest, mellowest, most relaxing and beautiful albums of all time. Amazing to me how it continues to be overlooked.
The Charlie Byrd Direct-to-Disc on Crystal Clear was an audiphile classic back in the 80's. I wouldn't say it's as good as "Guitar Artistry" but definitely worth owning if you can pick one up at a reasonable cost. I just saw a copy on Ebay in NM condition for $10 buy it now. Check it out.
Brasilian Soul, duets with Laurindo Almeida, is my favorite.
I would also recommend, "The Guitar Artistry of Charlie Byrd," a 45rpm double which contains two of his best albums, and the sound quality is exceptionally fine.
