the ATVM95E would be a good inexpensive choice and may sound good enough to make her want to upgrade her system!

The AT-3600L is a great value that tracks at a heavier weight than a lot of them, so it could be a good match for that TT.  

Anybody recognize this.  It was on an old TT I had in storage that never got much use.

You mentioned Sumiko Pearl, it seems a darn good choice to me, $132. bucks never killed anybody. (remembering the movie 'used cars')

The supplied cartridge is tracking around 3.5 gms, I agree, an AT Elliptical, tracking at 2 gm is smarter, however VM95e has only 20db of channel separation, 2.0db channel balance. The existing has 24db separation, and 1.5db channel balance, there is a chance it sounds better, i.e. more impressive than the VM95e.

This elliptical one has 27db separation, 1.5db channel balance, also tracks 2.0 gm

You mentioned Grado, this elliptical tracks at 1.8g and has channel separation of 25db, well worth the $125. IMO

Are you able to adjust the arm height? It is based on the height of the supplied AT3600 now.
