Best software to convert FLAC to Apple lossless?
I've converted my entire cd collection to FLAC which works nicely under Windows and FOOBAR. I'm looking to go the Mac route and wonder which conversion software will take the FLAC files and convert bit for bit to Apple Lossless. Any help is most welcome.

smoffatt - the reason i use apple lossless and itunes is because i use pure music. i only use itunes as the database and the presentation layer, pure music actually reads the music. you would need need to compare the itunes interface using pure music or amarra ripping with max or xld vs. some other interface (songbird) with flac to see if there was any improvement in sound and functionality. |
I see you're using pure music..I use Amarra. It has a flac conversion feature that places it into itunes (aiff). Given the competition, maybe you should suggest this feature to pure music? Amarra also let's me play flac natively via their on playlist. Finally, it leaves the orginal FLAC file intact, in case i want it for something else... |
FLAC is free, open-source format and can be played on many players such as car or home stereo, it is yet to be supported by Apple Mac computer and Apple portable devices. To enjoy incredible quality FLAC audio on Mac and any Apple devices, we need to convert FLAC to Apple Lossless.
