the Maggies have 86db sensitivity and 4ohm resistance. You could use almost anything except low watts, tube or solid state. These Maggies I suspect will dip down to much lower impedance like 2ohm or .5 ohm! So a amp that is stable down to 2 ohms should suffice. LSA makes an Integrated that would be amazing. I think it puts out 150/300 watts 8/4 ohm! McIntosh would be great....but not the MC150. I would choose one of McIntosh's better sounding SS amps. MC352 would be a lot better choice sonically, and you would have plenty of headroom for those Maggies to really sing!
I've been using a McCormack DNA- 1 Deluxe, I picked up used for less than $500.00 on eBay. Sent it to SMC and had it upgraded with their Silver upgrade package. Conservatively rated at 185 wpc into 8 ohms which easily doubles down at 4 ohms.Total cost less than $2000. The other thing I find truly amazing is if you call them for advice or have questions Steve McCormack answers the phone(or at least he answered my call)!!!!!Speakers are fully modded Magnestand MG-12s.

I'm pretty sure the Maggie impedance is pretty flat, very close to 4 ohms throughout.
Check out the Carver Cherry 180 or Black Beauty 350 monoblocks. There are reivews of these two very powerful tube amps, in Absolute Sound by Jonathan Valin, EnjoyTheMusic.com by Dick Olsher, and video reviews on avshowrooms.com and on YouTube. I use the earlier Black Beauty 305's to drive my MagnepN 20,7's. Excellent amplifiers!

Maggie's load is pretty flat at around 4 ohms so you can get great results with tubes. Need a bit of oomph tho! Lots of good ideas above. Schipo is bang on in my books if you want to keep budget low.
I have been pleased using Odyssey Audio Khartago SE Extreme monos at around $2k and Wyred4Sound SX-1000 monos for a little more $

I have the 1.7s, which are harder to drive than the MG12.

I used to own the MMGs and I had no trouble in a medium room using a Primaluna Prologue One with KT120, putting out around 42W. Real watts that is, and lots of current too.

Your best bet: a single Odyssey Khartago for about $1k
How does the system sound with your current amp? If you are not happy, what areas need improvement?
I would like to have more headroom also resolution. Thanks to everyone for your responses.
