These recordings have some of the best orchestral sound I’ve ever heard.
A true test for your system’s ability to reproduce an orchestra.
Thanks for the recommendation. We veteran collectors tend to have many Beethoven Symphony recordings. The most recent cycle to get my attention was Jordi Savall and his merry HIPP orchestra My first complete set was Szell/Cleveland. Karajan’s early sixties set from Berlin is still a classic. Older sets I listen to are various Furtwangler recordings and Toscanini/NBC |

I am impressed by the 6 th by Noseda ... There is no better version among all versions here directed by the geatest maestros of the last century even many times ... But it is amazing how Noseda work his own version with it is true a recording process absolutely stunning and no defect in interptretation for me ... It reveal as a radiography the orchestration skills of B. in a way many others recordings reveal as clearly ... There is no best version here but this one is to buy at all cost for me ... Buy and keep any version deemed the better by you and kept Noseda ... I do thanks to the OP for this information ... i am very pleased to listen to some details of the sixth on an improved way because of the recording excellency but also by a very good marestro on his road to greatness ... |
