BAT VK80 or REX II?

Thanks for your answer. Might I ask what amplifier / cables are you using? For reference, I have a pair of Lamm M1.2 and the VK50SE. Tara Muse between them and Kubala Elation! for my Dunlavy SC V. Right now I'm not sure if i reached the peak of mid-range resolve of my speakers or there is room for improvement in the preamp area.

Love my VK-80. They are now discontinued so you are lucky to get a new one if you buy it. The replacement (VK-85) is solid state and not tube.

Question on the newer BAT preamps and phono stages, VK-80, VK-P80 and VK-90, VK-P90 have been seeing them at some real good prices, does anyone know what is going on as they seem like pretty new items? Does BAT have replacements for these items? 

I agree with @dentdog but he meant to say you should contact Geoff Poor at Glenn Poor's Audio-Video in Champaign, IL.  He is the guy you need to talk to without a doubt. He knows BAT and Dunlavy.

Yea, got it backwards. Victor loves his power supplies which are thought highly of and the REX units have the separate PS.
