Some eight years ago or longer I had the Teo Standard MK2 in my system and thought it was the best sounding cable I ever owned. Playing the Audiofool I sold it and moved on to I don't know what 🧐.
This month I've bought 4 pairs of Teo Audio IC's. The prodigal son has returned to his father's mansion.
Bricasti M1 SE to Teo Audio pre amp using 1M RCA Teo Solfeggio.
From Teo pre amp to QOL BSG Technologies using 1.5 XLR Teo Ultra Double (A 1M RCA Teo Soleggo is in the post).
From BSG Technology to Manger S1 active speakers 2M (no name yet) Teo XLR.
No tubes are running in the system but now I have the glory of the tube sound because of the Teo cables.
I think their cables being built today are as good or better than the Reference cable Teo let me demo some 8 years ago.
My last IC to buy will be a 2M RCA Solfeggio to replace the no name.
Teo Audio’s, Ken and Taras, are some of the best folks to deal with. IMO they make some of the very best cables in the market place. The best I’ve ever heard in my system.
Now only if they could do AC cable.
Are there other audiophiles running Teo cables here on the 'Gon?
@testpilot+ 1 - No kidding - when I look at a direct-buy website for a product I'm interested in, but there are no prices listed, I just go to the next on the list - there are plenty of small cable manufacturers who sell good products for the money that DO show their prices. Why make a prospective customer have to initiate an inquiry to even get an idea of what they cost? I hope not too much business passes them by.
I assume that Teo mainly sells direct to consumer based on their very limited dealer network (non of which show Teo Products in their listings). Since they have standard product offerings, how hard would it be to post prices?
Ken and Taras of Teo Audio have been making their liquid brand cables for many years and I do believe contacting them with your budget, ends and length then they will let you know what they can build and price.
I just bought a 2M XLR cable off them. I wrote to Tares my need and Ken built me their best XLR cable and gave me the price to build it. Easy to deal with both of them. Remember they are not a huge cable company so patience is a virtue. If I can do coming, from New York, than anyone can do it 😎
4Life,
Send them an E-Mail and see what they got cooking. My 2M has no name I believe so I named it laughing gas. Makes me drunk every time I fire up my system.
If these cables are so wonderful, why don’t they publish prices on their website? I cannot locate prices at all. If they are supposed to be giant killers and a good purchase in terms of costs relative to other higher expensive products, I would assume that prices would be published. It’s early, only 2nd cup of coffee and still waking up, so, perhaps, I overlooked it. Interesting concept.
I have the Teo pre amp and running a loom of Teo IC’s. I removed the pre amp to hear how much influence it was having on the over all SQ of the system. Running the Bricasti M1 SE into the BSG QOL signal completion stage input and output to my Manger S1 active speakers the sound was glorious but I could hear the old digital haze, smear and harshness in the music. The Teo pre amp went quickly back in the system and there I heard the sound of the glorious 300B amp ( thrax Spartacus like) and the analog sound of a TT. Any component that can do that is SOTA in my opinion. It’s a passive unit and I would value it at at least $15k. to $20K.
I’ve never had a Hemingway Zcore IC in my system only their AC cables. Nothing will out run the Zcore AC cables. Their IC’s are huge $$$ and I am running 3 pairs so I am out of the race for their IC’s. Teo makes IC’s with the same Glory as the AC Zcore cables. When you install a Teo IC you notice right away something special is adding increased SQ in droves.
Ozzy, do you want to demo my 1.5M Teo XLR Ultra Double IC? If yes I can ship to you after my 1M RCA Teo Solfeggio arrives
Well....we can start by doing something simple and obvious and look at the arithmetic....just a set of nice 300B tubes can easily set you back about $1000...which, if you weren't aware, could get you a very very nice cable one could easily drop into any existing system...
And then there is some audio reality stuff to consider....with a TEO Audio cable you are not limited to a few watts if you want the sonic joy usually associated with the use of 300B tubes ( and not to mention the associated problems of speaker matching if you want to sample a vast array of musiques...like rock, reggae, funk, full bore classical etc don’t do so good with small wattage systems eh.. )....you can run any amp you want at any power rating you desire and still get that glow...something to file under having your cake and eating it too ( which I think most people would find quite appealing )...
So....apart from those wee minor quibbles your comment was correct...though admittedly only on a technicality....in the real audio world it does present some problems...like it costs you a pile of money to get a solution that has a somewhat limited audio application...
And here is another thing to consider....how about combining the organic glow of a TEO Audio cable with the warmth of a 300B...interesting possibility eh...and one more thing....300B amp based systems often are kinda woolly in the bass end of things...one of the things that TEO Audio cables bring to the table is this ability to solidify the bass bits....and we have had several clients with 300B based systems tell us how the addition of a TEO Audio cable helped ameliorate a problem traditionally associated with 300B amps by tightening up the bass...so more of that having/eating cake scenario eh...
@dabelFrank is well and very, very busy. Yes I have all his Silver Resolution interconnects, XLR, digital and power cables. Build quality is second to none and the same can be said of the sound quality. Zero detractors. 110% positive. Next is to re-wire my Clearaudio Ovation with the SR tone arm cable.
