Slightly more efficient woofer.  Adjusted crossover.  But sound varies from one sample to another.  Be careful of oozing black goo behind woofer. Great w counterpoints :) 

Where does the diamond fit in the mix?

Avalon has a remedy for the black goo. It’s something that you can easily install yourself.

Is there any modification is needed if replace the tweeter with the diamond one?

I'd guess they may not want to accommodate an upgrade modification unless they're all out of replacement tweeters.

The thing is they are so worth the effort, diamonds or not.
