Aurender N20 upsampling with tambaqui

Hello guys,

I am setting up my new combo of N20 and tambaqui over aes cables and doing some fine tuning. Tambaqui being a fpga based Dac, does some cool upsampling and processing. I was using the N20 functionality of upsampling of 48 to 192 for qobuz stream over conductor app.

I found that aurender upsampling was pushing vocals forward and making instruments more recessed.. difficult to describe ... has anyone has any insights with upsampling.. this is my first time trying any kind of streamer/Dac based upsampling..

In my experience not upsampling before the DAC (be it roon or streamer upsampling or both) produces better and more natural sounding presentation.

@saurabhgarg Hello!

I have a Tambaqui with the Grimm MU1.  This match allows the Grimm to upsample to the Tambaqui using AES.  It is my understanding that if you use USB, you bypass the streamers upsampling and allow the DAC to do it, if it does.  Using AES output from streamer to DAC bypasses the DAC's upsampling and clock.  How are you connected from your N20 to your Tambaqui?

I was using AES connection. But now I have changed the power cables and things are much better. I have been using NOS. Will try upsampling. Found both these units very sensitive to power cables and conditioner
