Audioquest Dragon ZERO vs Transparent Opus

Yes, Transparent Opus / should be calibrated to your components… it is part of the reason to go to Opus.

If the transparent cables are not calibrated for your exact system then you are missing out.

I would strongly recommend contacting Jay at jaysaudiolab.com.  He has owned both the Audioquest Dragon and Transparent Opus speaker cables.  He's also owned the Wilson Alexia V and the D'Agostino gear you own and are thinking of owning.  For a small consultation fee he will save you thousands of dollars in the long run.  I've used his services and highly recommend him.  Good luck.

Yes, I have heard the AQ Dragon Zero/TA Opus in the same system, same room.

System: Brinkman analog front, dCS DAC (server), Luxman D-03x player,  D' Agostino separates and Wilson Audio DAW, Alexia V.

What is your reference point for your recommendation? Have you owned Audioquest Dragon Zero or Transparent Opus? Have you heard a demo of the two speaker cables in the same system / same room? Please elaborate. Thank you

My big bugaboo with Transparent is their price new, vs the hit you take should you try to sell them. I also have little respect for their 'Network' boxes. And, yes, I have owned Transparent speaker cables.

To me, the new cables from AQ by Garth Powell are unbelievably good.

The big question is how it will work with your equipment. I have no experience with D'Agostino, and limited experience with Wilson.

As @ghdprentice, you should have a dealer/s loan you a set to try out on your system.

One person I would recommend you PM is John Rutan (Audioconnection). Though he is a dealer, he offers free, and very good advice without trying to sell you something. (And, believe me, he is the only dealer I would recommend without pause, as he is knowledgeable and nice).

In this exalted category, demand your dealers allow you to demo them both (they should be offering). There is absolutely no excuse for them not to allow you an extended audition at no cost.

I have a AudioQuest Hurricane and all my other wires are Transparent Ultra (Gen 6). The question you have asked is great… I believe the better is The Opus… but they need to prove it to you in your system. I would also look at Nordost Odin 2… incredible wires!
