Any modern rock recommendations?

Can anyone recommend any recent rock music?  Been dragging out my classic rock albums from 60's, 70's and 80's.  Surely there must be some decent rock bands in the classic style from this century...

Well define "modern." If you are talking post '80s there is an infinite list. 90s were a golden era of rock. If you are steaming just look for a '90s rock playlist. I would definitely recommend Ocean Colur Scene though - lemme know what you think. Best album: Moseley Shoals. Try The Stews, David Gray, Midlake, The Proclaimers ( putting our great albums since the late '80s), System Of A Down ( still occasionally touring but no new album in like 20+ years), Bright Eyes.

You'll also find a lot of great artists from your collection era have been putting out superb albums for 40+yrs like Paul Weller. Hard to get a better rock song than "Changing Man."

Great techno Brit punk with brilliant, dark, hilarious lyrics: Sleaford Mods. Most hilarious opening lyric ever: "The smell of piss is so strong, it smells like nice bacon "

I highly recommend checking out the YouTube channel Sea of Tranquility.  Tons of great content with reviews, discussions, shows, etc. Emphasis on rock, metal, prog, and fusion.  Some jazz thrown in. They have a website too.  Great resource for music, old and new. I have found so many bands from the 70s that I’ve never heard of before!

Explore and enjoy!
