Your first concert was to see who and when?
ELO, Pontiac Silverstone, 1978
How competitive are you with your system?
Not being a competitive person at all it's an easy answer. I know my system is good/very good; it's built to best value proposition. I have no intention of ever upgrading again unless something breaks.
Any modern rock recommendations?
Great techno Brit punk with brilliant, dark, hilarious lyrics: Sleaford Mods. Most hilarious opening lyric ever: "The smell of piss is so strong, it smells like nice bacon "
Any modern rock recommendations?
Well define "modern." If you are talking post '80s there is an infinite list. 90s were a golden era of rock. If you are steaming just look for a '90s rock playlist. I would definitely recommend Ocean Colur Scene though - lemme know what you think....

I'm curious. What is your "normal" listening volume?
75-85dB in large open great room.
Am I crazy to upgrade?
Funny how, since they're cheap, everyone here just casually bashes Emotive XPA-3s but look up pro reviews and they are universally liked and loved for their value.    Audiogon snobs.
New Speakers under consideration - but I’m afraid
It seems like you have enough power so no more versatile and bang-for-the-buck manufacturer as Magnepan.
Oh my goodness!
I agree we should just eat the rich nowadays too. And there is definitely a point of diminishing returns.
