Any Experience with Furman-IT Reference 20i?

Curious if Garth Powell had his hands in it during his time at Furman

I have an Elite but not a reference and I love the reliability of sound quality.

Also, just FYI, the 20i requires a 20A circuit/plug. Unless you know you need it the 15i may be your ideal.

I use the IT Ref-15i as a dedicated conditioner and SMP surge protector for my 300w amp. The power factor outlet it's plugged into has 55amps available at peak charge, allows for very good dynamics. My amp sounds excellent plugged into it. I use a separate conditioner for everything else.

I brought a Furman 15I back in January, you can search for the thread and what I thought of it. All positive. I agree with @erik_squires - I got the 15 because I didn't have a 20amp circuit. You may want to double check that you do.

Erik, what does "reliability of sound quality" actually sound like? Thanks for the 20A caution. I am using a 20A breaker and a dedicated #8 supply line for my audio feed.

I have read arguments against putting any kind of conditioner before an amp, but the big Furman is capable of supplying 80A for peak demands. I'm curious if anyone has heard this model (or equivalent) in situ.

Sorry, didn't mean to create a whole new Audiophile term.  My Furman has been with me through several moves from several apartment complexes to my current detached home.  I meant that I can rely on my system sounding just as good in the morning and evening no matter where I live, at least in terms of the power quality. The room and acoustics are something else. :)  In some places like my two different San Francisco bay apartments I definitely could tell when it was not in the system.

I live in lightning prone area and I absolutely will not plug anything directly into the wall here.  Just make sure whichever Furman unit you use has LiFT and SMP at least.  That will remove most of the noise and offer high quality surge protection.

Thanks for the advice! We don't get much lightening here, but are plagued by many power outages. I'm  sure either Furman would protect.
