Amp recommendation

I’m looking for a recommendation for an amp to use with a pair of Acoustic Research AR-91’s. I’ve read that they are power hungry but I need a little direction. This will strictly be for 2 channel use, a mix of CDs and vinyl. The room is roughly 10x15 and listening distance will be fairly close. Current equiptment includes an Arcam 300 and a newer low-end Onkyo. Do I start from scratch or add an amp to the Arcam?

Thanks

These speakers are 87 db,  so they could run on 50 watts or so,  the problem is that they are 4 ohm and dip below that, so they will need an amp capable of producing some decent current. Even though the Arcam is 120 watts,  it has a poor power supply and does not produce current well.  I'd look at some thing that greatly increased its power from 8 ohms going to 4 ohms.  Its not a tell all, but it is a good indicator that an amp can produce the current needed for a power hungry speaker.
I would go with the highest power integrated you can find for 1500.  I see a few used Hegels here which may be just the ticket.
