Amp on eBay shipped from Japan?

Look into buyee.jp.  It is related to Yahoo Japan.  I've had good luck buying items from Japan this way, with buyer protection.

Yes, a few years ago I won an eBay auction for a Sanei 2A3 SET from a Japanese seller. It was near Christmas so he gave me free shipping! No problem with payment/shipping.

If it's too good to be true, it might fall under the 'grey market' umbrella. Make sure you're getting manufacturer warranty. Also, pay special attention to voltage specs (especially when importing to US). 

Thanks for the comments.  I've looked at seller feedback and while positive, the items being sold are the the $100 to $300 range and are not audio equipment in the $4k to $5k range.  Just seems suspicious to me.
