For a streamer I recommend choosing an Aurender. One commiserate with the your other equipment. My streamer is the most costly component on my digital side. With much experimentation on different streamers I realized it is a source component and therefore is very much like a turntable… you can’t fix inferior sound by amplifying it. While the idea of a steamer shouldn’t sounds appealing it is completely wrong.
Also, I and most folks will recommend you switch to Qobuz for streaming. It is the premier high fidelity streaming service. It has over 500,000 high resolution albums… and is widely regarded as the best sounding. While having only a fraction of the high resolution albums Tidal is pretty much the only real competition. This shouldn’t be something you think much about. Just do it. I had Tidal, my audio guy brought it up every time he dropped by… after a year I finally got a subscription to try in parallel with Tidal, within a couple days I dropped Tidal and kicked myself for not listening to him sooner.
You love McIntosh… I assume… you have a lot of it. Many people do. So maybe a Mac preamp is the way to go. I respect the brand… it is good at midrange and has very pronounced bass at the expense of openness and level of details. I am a Audio Research fan. You can see my systems under my ID.
It would be great to see yours. The components sound great.
