Adding a dedicated Preamp and Hi Res Streamer

Hello Audiophiles , Need you input on perhaps adding a dedicated preamp and HI Res streamer to my current system . I was thinking about the MCintosh C-53 as a preamp . What other options do you recommend for the preamp and for a Hi RES music sreamer to improve the sound quality without "breaking the bank " .

I heard about the Parasound JC2 BP - how does it compare to the C53 ? Any other preamps ?

I'm using Amazon Music HD for hi res audio streaming and need the new streamer to control it in the app and on the TV screen (as I have in the the Marantz via Heos) - not as Apple play or bluetooth .

Marantz AV8805 (currently used for HT and music , streaming , etc

MCINTOSH AMPS :

MC 1.2 KW - L / R main

MC 601 - Center

MC 452 surround

Sub: Velodyne DD 15 .

Speakers : Wilson Audio :

Sasha (newer tweeters) - main .

Watch , Series 2 - center .

Speakercraft inwall AIM Cinema 5  - surrounds .

I have 3 dedicated circuits .

Power cables : Audioquest Monsoon (main) and Pangea AC 9SE MKII (rest of amps) and Pangea AC 14 XL MKII  (for the Marantz AV8805).

For a streamer I recommend choosing an Aurender. One commiserate with the your other equipment. My streamer is the most costly component on my digital side. With much experimentation on different streamers I realized it is a source component and therefore is very much like a turntable… you can’t fix inferior sound by amplifying it. While the idea of a steamer shouldn’t sounds appealing it is completely wrong.

Also, I and most folks will recommend you switch to Qobuz for streaming. It is the premier high fidelity streaming service. It has over 500,000 high resolution albums… and is widely regarded as the best sounding. While having only a fraction of the high resolution albums Tidal is pretty much the only real competition. This shouldn’t be something you think much about. Just do it. I had Tidal, my audio guy brought it up every time he dropped by… after a year I finally got a subscription to try in parallel with Tidal, within a couple days I dropped Tidal and kicked myself for not listening to him sooner.

You love McIntosh… I assume… you have a lot of it. Many people do. So maybe a Mac preamp is the way to go. I respect the brand… it is good at midrange and has very pronounced bass at the expense of openness and level of details. I am a Audio Research fan. You can see my systems under my ID.

It would be great to see yours. The components sound great.
