2 Channel & Home Theater

Hello:

I just acquired a McIntosh C55 and MC257.  I, also, have a Marantz 7703 pre and 8077 amp.  I would like to use the McIntosh for 2 channel music and Marantz for HT.  My speakers are B&W 703 S3, HTM71 S3, JLAudio f10 and B&W 705 S3 signatures.

I have my Innuos ZENmini mk3 and Denon DP-62L connected to the McIntosh for music listening.

What would be the best way to connect the components so I can switch between 2 channel music listening or HT.

Thank you for any help you can offer.

You have way too many amps!!

Generally speaking the simplest way to integrate a 2-channel and multi channel system is to use the two channel system for L and R at all times.

With a 2-channel preamp or integrated you look for a home-theater bypass or processor input.  These special inputs bypass the volume control, letting your HT processor do all the work.

Your HT processor then sends L and R to  your stereo preamp, and the remaining multi-channel signals go to another amplifier.

@erik_squires +1.  Let us know if you need further help in making the connections.  A cost-effective upgrade you might wanna consider would be to get a separate linear power supply for your ZENmini from LHY, Teddy Pardo, or SBooster.  FWIW.

The home theatre bypass option is the only real solution.

Here's a current list of amps and preamps that have the functionality.

Good luck.
