1st ordr crossover is NOT phase coherent?

So what order x-over will maintain phase between drivers both on and off axis?

1st-order through the crossover region has 90 degrees of relative phase between drivers, whereas we want 0 degrees.

In terms of transient behavior, 1st order is still 90 degrees between drivers. The reason that people mistakenly presume that it has perfect transient behavior is because they look at the sum of both drivers exactly on axis, which doesn't translate into reality very well. In any case, even among those who emphasize absolute phase, there is no doubt that the transient behavior between drivers is not very good (i.e. the relative phase) in a 1st-order crossover.
