What can I do between the wall and my streamer/DAC?
With a run that long you would benefit from fiber and a good Ethernet cable on the streamer end. I recently replaced my 30 foot Cat 6 with fiber and Cat 8 cable, it was a significant upgrade in sound. And cheap to try, around $120 on Amazon. There...
Too much power?
@zlone yes, thanks for checking the details, I have EC 220, and used to have 2 as mono blocks.. long story short was trying the EC AW 180.. but my question really was if any of these crazy powerful amps are even necessary when listening at any hu...
Too much power?
Maybe. Looking at your system, assuming it is up to date, the Electrocompaniet 220 puts out 70 watts at 8 ohms, 120 at 4, into Maggie 1.7s. Seems like it might lack the depth needed for those speakers. Maggie owners, is this enough for mid-volume ...
Best Amps for Magneplanar 1.7i Speakers
Like the others are saying, I think the Rogue has enough power for the speakers. Having auditioned a Rogue Sphinx v1 (with power hungry LS50's), I found that it had sufficient power for my speakers. However, I came to the conclusion that it played...
What now?
Larsen and Ohm come to mind if you need to be close to a wall. Both available in your price range I think.
Ditching Class A Amps due to Heat - Sort of a Poll
It’s considered a feature in northern Minnesota.

Probably the best resolution with a flaky buyer, minus the remote problems. Try a new battery before you give up on it.
My Amp is good but probably the weak point
I have a Coda #8 and have owned Heresy's (II) in the past, though never paired the two. Heresy's may not be "accurate" by audiophile standards, but they bring so much life to the music. If you like them, you like them. Given their high sensitivity...
Welcome to Hell, here's your 8-Track
What other audio technology allows you to listen to two songs at the same time? Yes, 8-tracks were portable, but you always needed a matchbook handy to tweak the head position.
Do speaker cables really make a difference ?
@soix  If you wanna stop messing around with entry-level cables, buy these Acoustic Zen Satori cables at a great price and go to the next level.  If they don’t work out just turn around and sell them at little/no loss as there’s a fluid market f...
Do Streamer only devices really impact sound quality?
The ones and zeroes generally make it to your DAC intact. However, as noted in other posts here, streaming accuracy and the eventual sound is highly dependent on two other factors, timing (jitter) and electrical noise. Streamers make a huge differ...
Where should I go from here with my digital front end?
I was using a 30' CAT 6a cable from my hub to my streamer and recently switched to isolation using fiber endpoints and a short CAT 8 (LinkUp) cable. The upgrade was significant on my system. Guessing there was more noise than expected on the old l...
Do speaker cables really make a difference ?
Having recently replaced my Blue Jeans speaker cables with Mogami, I can weigh in on this discussion. Two totally different sounds, for sure. After playing the Mogami's for a couple months I was not so sure they were what I was looking for and swi...

@brunomarcs The buyer has sent a video  of the crackling noise and now says that's gone. Now the volume is making a noise. I've offered to refund him but he wants to send it schiit for repair. I would offer to take it back again and if he still...

@brunomarcs I sold my Freya plus and shipped it to the guy and he's called and said it's making a crackling noise? Sounds like it's coming from the tubes. Anyone have experience this? Does it in all three modes! The stepped attenuator isn't the p...
