Audiophile Surge Suppressor (and nothing else) Yes, good to hear your voice again @erik_squires , thanks for your comments. I have a lot of ideas based on this conversation, thanks for all the feedback.
Six DAC Comparison Many thanks for your excellent and even-handed reviews of these DAC’s, quite an undertaking. If you ever need a side gig you could join the glamorous world of audio reviewers.
Audiophile Surge Suppressor (and nothing else) @total111 The Torus products look like a pretty sound product. @rick_n I had not heard of the Clarus, it seems decent as well, though maybe a little out of my price range when going beyond the Duet.
Magico speakers too clinical and fatiguing? Having heard so much in the trades about Magicos, I was interested to hear them at AXPONA. Shows are not ideal, I know, but I was underwhelmed. I heard plenty of other speakers that were much more to my liking, I guess it comes down to preference.
Audiophile Surge Suppressor (and nothing else) Some good recommendations here that I was not aware of, thanks. What brought me here? I have an aging Furman PFi 20 that hums, and I am trying out a Puritan PSM156, but that is not going too well. This made me think I should abandon it all and...
KEF Meta speakers vs non meta I have KEF Reference 1’s and am wondering the same thing about the meta version. I have seen some reviews stating it is a whole new speaker, but that seemed a bit over the top. I am interested to hear if anyone has made the upgrade.
Audiophile Surge Suppressor (and nothing else) I have installed a whole house suppressor, however it is my first understanding that these may not be sufficient to save your gear. I do not live in a high risk area, so it might be overkill to worry about it. What if I revised the questio...
New Speakers under consideration - but I’m afraid +1 for a trip to hear some different speakers. While not ideal listening, attending a show is also a good way to sample a lot of brands and narrow your search.
Power cord upgrade Thanks @audphile1 , you just saved me the time. If you can't hear the difference, you need a better system, or better ears. The only point I can agree on with the naysayers is that science cannot yet explain it.
Music server recommendations needed. I have an Innuos Zenith Mk III that is well regarded and has excellent user software. It also has a CD slot for ripping, but not playing, CD's to the internal drive. My suggestion however is to keep your CD player, get the best Innuos unit that y...
Aurender and native DSD output I believe that AES which is SPDIF, does not support anything over 192 KHz, and so DSD will not work on that interface.
Comparing Powerline Ethernet to WiFi for streaming audio @boulder_bob You might try a repeater, it is a cheap experiment: TP-Link AC1200 WiFi Extender,... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08RHD97QY?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Comparing Powerline Ethernet to WiFi for streaming audio @boulder_bob I recently moved to a new room where it was not convenient to use a wired Ethernet connection, and it was recommended that I use a wireless extender instead. I did this and everything worked fine. One day I decided to see if a hard wi...
Power cord upgrade @mclinnguy Thanks, Audio Sensibility is on my list.Very fair prices and it looks like decent gear.
Power cord upgrade @megabyte No problem, there are so many choices it is easy to mix up the specs. I have never noticed much difference with power cables until I tried this Shunyata on my Furman PFi 20, and the Puritan that replaced it. A profound difference, no... |
