System assessment...
Congrats on retirement, I am three years in and enjoying it very much. And a nice system, I too have the Reference One’s, a very capable speaker. How is your listening time split between analog and digital? Any plans to add streaming? If you are ...
Wrapping power cords and interconnects with copper foil.
You have discovered one reason why better cables matter. Proper shielding makes a big difference. I recently acquired a new to me power amplifier that only supports RCA. I tried several cables on hand, none expensive, one had hum, one was murky, t...
Thoughts: Mofi Sourcepoint 888 vs Fyne Audio 501sp?
Sorry if it was mentioned, but what are the destination room dimensions? And what type of amplification? These are both high sensitivity speakers, is that a requirement?
Weak link
That’s a great system. +1 for dedicated lines. If you are technically inclined get a usb mic and fiddle with REW to see how your room rates. Then look at room treatment. I have tried and like the WireWorld Eclipse interconnects, but you might try ...
Solid State Preamp to replace tube unit
I commented earlier in this thread that I have been happy with my Pass XP-12, it offered a nice balance in comparison to the other preamps that I tried. However, I chanced upon a good deal on an Audionet G2, I struggle to find the words to describ...
Speaker cables with good timbre
+1 on the Acoustic Zen Hologram, these deliver what you are looking for.
Coda 07x Preamp latest version vs previous version
I had the previous version, and I have not heard the new version, but the sound was not to my liking. Noisy is the only way I can describe it. It was paired with a Coda #8. Some people like the sound and call it tube-like or warm. It was not what ...
Faint buzz in speakers
I recently had this issue with a new amp and it was my cabling picking up some noise. In my case the amp only accepts RCA connections, so this may not have been a problem with a balanced setup. Is it in one speaker or both, and if in both, is it t...
Issue with S/PDIF cable
I have never encountered a problem like that with SPDIF, sounds like the cable is downright faulty.
Speaker List narrowed down…
In terms of esthetics I think it comes down to the YG, Estelon and PS Audio. if you think the PS Audio are too big, they probably are. I listened to both YG and Estelon at AXPONA this year, YG in two different rooms, YG was a clear winner, and no ...
New room needs new speakers, I need your help
QLN fits the bill soundwise, but would stretch the budget. I have seen the 3’s for sale used in the $5k range. Check these forums for opinions.
PS Audio BHK signature preamp
Interesting you recommend the v1.  KEF recommends at least 60% of 300w for the R11’s… so at least 180w. In talking to their support, they wanted 200w.  Is there some advantage to the V1? FWIW, I drive a pair of the KEF Reference One's with my C...
PS Audio BHK signature preamp
It looks like it has no trigger, so must be manually powered on and off?  My Coda #8 has a trigger on it and it works fine with my Pass Pre and its remote.
Help Deciding On New Speakers For Small Room, $10k budget
Lots of great suggestions here, nothing I can add. I used to be in a room of similar size and only recently moved to a slightly larger one. During that transition I upgraded my KEF LS50’s to KEF Reference 1’s. They were too much speaker for the sm...
Amp for the new Watt Puppy speakers
I recently acquired an Audionet PRE G2 and Amp 1, I highly recommend you give this brand some consideration.
