Retirement integrated amp for a “fiscal conservative”…..Part 1: I have a plan Amps are a bit harder to audition under show conditions, however I think that your plan is solid. I attended AXPONA last year and while the easiest thing to audition at a show is speakers, there were some component manufacturers that stood out. Au...
speaker upgrade fever Good move on the Pulsars, think that is the right choice, especially with the price.
A cable too perfect? @gp4jesus Good advice under any circumstances, it seems to have a positive effect to reseat connections once in awhile. However, for my ears and system, it seems to take a few days for everything to sound totally right after reseating and cleaning...
Wattgate IEC does not fit tight. I am continually frustrated by this issue, it is such a poor design. Any metal with high conductivity is too soft to maintain tension. Are there any vendors that spring load their plugs?
TAD Speakers I am always on the lookout for a worthy upgrade to my KEF Reference 1’s. The consistently glowing reports for TAD speakers keep them on my radar. I have not had a chance to hear them, and am unlikely to spend that kind of money on a blind upgrade....
Woodstock 1969, or 1967? You lost me when you trashed a lot of great music and musicians. I like The Band, I don’t love them, but I wouldn’t put them down to try to elevate my own tastes.
A cable too perfect? @kennyc I’m reminded of chicken little That's fair. I have broken in a lot of cables, this one was just really different.
speaker upgrade fever I've narrowed my search down to the JA Pulsar 2 G and a the Harbeth 3.1s Both are used priced fairly. I will be very interested hear your results.
speaker upgrade fever @kclone Disapointig to hear the KEF Reference Series are on the bright side, errr maybe not bright back lacks warmth is a better way of saying it. I think the OP clarified that he was not saying the KEF's were bright, only that he did not want ...
A cable too perfect? @audphile1 if you want it even thicker look for Absolute Copper speaker cables. Might be a good match with those Kefs You read my mind. I am using the Hologram II's right now.
Such Great help before. Maybe some more help now I am not suggesting any change, you have a nice system. I used to have Heresy’s and I liked them, but Klipsch and horns offer a certain type of sound. If you are feeling the need for change I would take the time to audition some other brands of sp...
A cable too perfect? The sound is starting to fill in with more time on the cables. I am now confident that these cables will be very good after another week of play. I will report back once they have had more time. I have just never had a cable sound so different, an...
A cable too perfect? @mclinnguy I agree that it would be hard to assess my power cords and how they might be affecting the system. Keep in mind that I have used several sets of interconnects with this system already, and there was no issue with leanness. You make a va...
A cable too perfect? @steakster @mclinnguy Regarding power cables, I am running Neotech 3001 with either Neotech or Wireworld plugs, one into a PS Audio P15, and then from the P15 to the amp. Dedicated 20 amp line with Furutech NCF outlet. https://www.soniccraft.co...
A cable too perfect? @lak Just a thought I had early this morning, I don't recall if the Acustic Zen Absolute Copper RCA's are directional or not. Is it possible they will sound more to your liking in a reversed fashion? @zlone you never said if the interconnects wer... |
