Why do McIntosh come with cheap plastic remotes? The more I think of it the more I applaud an inexpensive but functional remote. The hi-end is infested with too much bling. give me outstanding quality and I could not care less what it looks like.
VPI Scout and Scout 1.1 Question One person says the new platter gives you more top end, another suggest the new platter gives you more at the low end. If it does both then does it really do anything?
Do Rega arms work well with LP12s? I used to have a Rega arm on my LP12, now I have an Ekos. Ekos is a better arm, and the Rega does work with the LP 12 but you might need to trim the right rear corner brace to fit the Rega.
At What Age Does An Audiophile Buy His Last Amp? Great question, great answers. For me music is a tonic. Last year I had major surgery and I spent months recuperating at home. I spent my time doing three things for the most part- listening to my music, watching James Bond movies, and sleeping th...
what cables for Krell 300i and Revel M20 suggest I am very pleased with Analysis Plus cabling in my system. I use Solo Crystal oval interconnects and Oval 9 speaker cable. I run a pair of Revel F30's, driven by Pass electronics
Why do McIntosh come with cheap plastic remotes? I've some heavy remotes, some small and light remotes, and had a ridiculously large remote once. None have ever failed. So as far as I am concerned if the remote works well, cheap is fine. The guts are likely all pretty much the same.
Anti static guns I've had my Zerostat since maybe 1985. Still works great. I have the black cap which verifies function but if you've lost it just put your finger on the needle as your pulling and releasing slowly. You'll know if it works!
SS Pre-amps that can beat an Audio Research sp16 pass xp-10?
Is it real or just my imagination? Doesn't really matter if it's real or not- you're enjoying the music, right?
How would you feel OK, I found the amp, LSA statement. I remember this amp sort of, and I recall wondering back then why it cost so much. Supposedly the amp back in the day had a list of $11,500 thus the $9,000 price looked like a real steal. But if they can bring i...
How would you feel Well, if I liked the amp enough to spend $9,000, then I would still like the amp. I wouldn't like what I paid for it though, but that's two years after the factMakes you wonder about the value of high end gear
Weiss is so underrated That more money into a system equals better sound
Conrad Johnson vs. McInosh.... actually, neither. I've owned CJ gear, and a buddy has Mac. For tubed, Rogue gets my vote, and for solid state, Pass. I also quite like Sim.
Weiss is so underrated " It would seem to me that components should be changed out based upon some sort of dissatisfaction with their sound quality."Which is why I have a turntable, phono Pre amp and speakers eachnoverva decade old. I simply like them, like them a lot. ...
Recapturing the JBL L100 Century I've spoken to Dale Harder, and while I think he offers the best solution, it's very costly. Not really interested in a current ohm because they don't use a true Walsh driver. There are options other than Dale Harder, and eventually I'll do it. |
