Integrated amp: Component weight @cundare2 I was not going to comment because you asked for an integrated. However, since you are open to the Benchmark stack, I was also going to say that would work nicely with the Harbeth’s. I hear the Harbeths as a bit warm and the Benchmark g...
Stereo Amp recommendations for Legacy Audio XDs My CODA dealer is a huge Legacy dealer. He had a full CODA stack for all the Legacy speakers in his demo room. I think CODA also built the wavelet for Legacy.
The new Coda S5.5 amplifier: It's a "Petite Beast"! It was an interesting discussion. He went really deep into the details of what was happening since the old SYSTEM 100 to the new SYSTEM 150. Strangely, I had a Deja vu moment as I listened. I recalled a similar discussion with Roger Sanders last ...
The new Coda S5.5 amplifier: It's a "Petite Beast"! BTW - Anyone with a S5.5 using it with the Magnepan LRS+ speaker. I am curious if the S5.5 can drive the $1000 LRS+. If it can then that would be a great "value" system. I was using a Sanders Magtech for a while on it, and it was great. For a lar...
The new Coda S5.5 amplifier: It's a "Petite Beast"! Since some of you asked me on DM about the mono S5.5, here is what Doug at CODA told me today. It is not the best way to use the amp. A stereo amp bridged to mono suffers sonically and has to work much harder. There is a technical explanation on ...
Best HIFI Stores LA/Orange Brooks Berdan is closed or moved to Seattle area. No B&M retailer can give you a big selection of high end speakers. Go to an audio show to narrow it down. Then visit. I recommend having a listen my speakers at Shelleys in Woodland Hills. ...
Lumin P1 or Pre / Streamer / DAC separates? This comment applies to ROON or JRiver users (maybe more but I do not know) If the men220 is the DSP piece from MAC then that and any audio hardware DSP can be better by software dsp that runs as Convolution filters. https://accuratesound.ca/
The time has come and I request advice... Not sure if ROON does not have a future. Best audio purchase I made was a lifetime subscription before ROON was even released for $450. I know they got sold, but I doubt they got sold to be shutdown. The stuff you can do with ROON is unmatched. I...
Yamaha NS 5000 w/ NAD M33 @steve59 In the past I have not been a fan of MAC. Now if I am not seeing a perfect match with the CODA #16, which is slightly warm. I think I would have the same issue with the MAC. That is why I tried to make the brighter Benchmark AHB2 work. I ...
Yamaha NS 5000 w/ NAD M33 I was deciding on whether to sell my AHB2 tonight, so I hooked it up to the Holo Serene preamp and the Benchmark DAC3B. I put it through the RAAL T1-1b amp interface box and listened with the RAAL CA-1a headphone. That fatigue I had on the NS5000...
Yamaha NS 5000 w/ NAD M33 Agree with the quality of amps used with the NS5000. The NAD is not in the best choice. I would take a Benchmark AHB2 mono over the NAD for about the same price, even though it was my worst performer on the NS5000. With regards to the current or ...
Excellent Solid State or Hybrid Monoblocks Recommendations @jaymark Since we have a few common amps, Ric’s modded GAN amp(s) and the CODA #16 let me add my 2 cents. The CODA S5.5 amp is supposed to be a bit like the #16 but supposedly a bit better on top (maybe less warmth). I have not heard it yet, but I...
The new Coda S5.5 amplifier: It's a "Petite Beast"! I am waiting to hear back from my CODA dealer about the S5.5 and running it in mono vs the #16. Anybody have an opinion on that? Maybe I should call Doug at CODA .
The new Coda S5.5 amplifier: It's a "Petite Beast"! @audioman58 Have you heard the KRELL KSA i400? I have an amazing offer to trade-in my CODA #16 for that amp. I owned the KRELL Duo 175XD and loved it. Moreso, then the CODA #8. I think the #16 has the edge over the 175XD, mainly with power. Do y...
Yamaha NS 5000 w/ NAD M33 Do not hear the NS5000 as being towards the clinical side of neutral. It is slightly warm. My Magnepan LRS+ is brighter. I am considering the SimAudio because it is brighter than my CODA #16 for the NS5000. |
