High End and cables and tin ears.... Mr Rodman99999 has it right. Personally I only change cables when something doesn't quite sound right or I'm looking to gain something.
Another cable length question.... I would not worry about it but if concerned you could always find a slightly larger gauge. Not that I have experimented much with long lengths but would think at 50 - 100 ft or longer might be of some concern due to resistance.
Can speakers be too large for a room As a Bryston B100 owner (with dynaudio C1's) I would say the Bryston is your problem. Some speakers really need more than the min recommended power to sound their best. Also the Bryston does seem to clip a little past 1 o'clock (in my system) whic...
Nordost Quantum Technology Products Thanks for the feedback!! Dlcockrum - Does the SR power cell work as well without using active SR cords and cables?
Sonus Faber Auditor M - Your Thoughts Very nice speaker. I almost bought them until I heard the Dynaudio C1's. No comparison in my opinion. For me the auditor m were a little too laid back in the mids and once I heard the esotar2 tweeter and the added 'speed' of the sound that the C1'...
iTunes can't find Network Storage I think Al hit on the most important problems. CHECK those first. How many computers do you have on your network? Can any other computer access the nas if you have more than 1? Another thing to try is disconnecting all other computers and running ...
Sub for 2 channel music only setup DrubinThe 'R' series seems like more for HT than 2 channel. When compared to 2 channel the 'R' series to me sounds too boomy. Not as musical. Maybe it's the class 'D' amp - I don't know but again to me it didn't sound right. FWIW I have the B3 and...
Sub for 2 channel music only setup Another vote for Rel. Personally I stay away from the 'R' series. I recently upgraded the stock cable to a Nordost Baseline and that made a huge difference. I had no idea what I was missing
Dynaudio breakin period I have the C1's and they sounded great right out of the box. At approx 100 they sounded just horrible. About 50 hrs later they started to improve. At 250 hrs they sounded good again but at 350 hrs they are at their best. I also ran mine 7/24 out t...
Inexpensive Bookshelf Speaker Stand? I bought some VTI stands for my old mission/cyrus 782's a few years back and they were about $100. Also filling the legs with sand really helped. Just make sure the sand is dry.
Sub Cable Effect Wow - I just replaced my stock Rel cable for the Nordost baseline cable. The amount of low bass information is nothing short of amazing. Everything got so much better. Air - ambience - depth and sound stage is a world better. I would have to agree...
How much are your speakers toed in? My Dyn C1's are toed in approx 5 degrees. Straight out is good but a little too wide of a soundstage for my tastes (almost like having 2 soundstages).
Any experience with Signal Cable for REL sub? For years I have wondered how upgrading the stock Rel for my B3 to anything else would make much of a difference and just 3 weeks ago I got my answer. I bought a Nordost baseline sub cable with the neurtrik and spades for a high level input. All I...
Silver solder--what wattage soldering iron? Try using some flux which is 'acid based' to clean the metals. It is made just for soldering. I haven't soldered or brazed with silver for about 35 years but without the flux it will never make a decent solder/braze joint.
Naim Supernait vs Nait XS vs Nait 5i: Differences I compared the 5i to the supernait and would have to say sonically they are quite close but since the supernait has more power so it can 'control' low efficient speakers better. Then added the flatcap power supply and the power/control jumped up a... |
