Looking for a DAC < $1500
@kalali, I didn’t mean to suggest the Bifrost has a BNC connector (it doesn’t), I threw it in there only to comment on it’s sound quality. Best of luck with your search and please let us know which you decide on.
Looking for a DAC < $1500
I would be looking at one of Schiit's multibit DACs. The Gungnir and Yggdrasil have both RCA and BNC connections and a simple BNC to RCA adaptor would do the trick. I have the Bifrost Multibit and have never heard even a drop of digital glare thro...
Greg Lake RIP
So sad we're losing this generation of artists. A great talent.
Best Sinatra 'Greatest Hits' Collection?

Bluesound products to add to hifi satisfaction?
Well, I love my Node 2 and I think it's a steal at it's price-point. Purchased back in April, the Node 2 replaced my well-appointed Mac mini (quad-core i7, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD) based system and I haven't looked back. The Node 2 sound equals or sur...

WiFi System Upgrades
@williewonka .. I've had my Node 2 since April and have experienced similar. My library is located on a USB hard drive attached to my AirPort Extreme router and on occasion the router needs to be restarted to fix this issue. Sometimes the Node 2 n...
I NEED AN AMP!! BUT WHAT?? HELP PLEASE!!
Another vote for the Odyssey Khartago. It's hard to beat in this price range. Buy used and you won't be waiting months for Klaus to build yours. He's a busy man for a reason.
Best solo piano recording...redbook CDs only...Jazz, easy listening, piano bar
Ola Gjeilo .. either Stone Rose or Piano Improvisations are both beautifully recorded (2L). He is a mash up of Jazz, Classical, and Pop genres. Jan Gunnar Hoff is another from the 2L label .. LIVING is fantastic.Craig Urquhart is a fabulous new-ag...
WiFi System Upgrades
Well, 1st and foremost the ATV resamples everything to 16/48 before it even hits your DAC. Then the DAC Magic does it's thing (more oversampling). So, if you want to keep wifi in the mix you might be better off using an AirPort Express instead of ...
upgrade advice
I vote for trying a different DAC. FWIW I purchased a Bluesound Node 2 back in April and retired my 2012 Mac mini (i7, 256GB SSD, 16GB RAM, Amarra Symphony, Audirvana +, JRMC, Pure Music) .. the Node 2 is really quite good. I prefer both of my DAC...
What is you TIDAL setup?
@kalali .. I think it's more refined and nuanced honestly. I had the DAC before acquiring the Node 2, otherwise I might not have bothered. The on-board Burr Brown DAC in the Node 2 is quite acceptable.
What is you TIDAL setup?
Bluesound Node 2 > iFi SPDIF iPurifier > Schiit Bifrost MultibitBluOS Controller apps for iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Apple TV and Sound Quality
The biggest complaints with the ATV is 2-fold:resamples everything to 16/48toslink is a jittery messI've heard nice improvements using it with the Wyred 4 Sound re-clocker, but that means there is another conversion to 24/96, which bothers some pu...
Question for sub woofer users
I’m in the 2 subs are better than 1 camp myself. A pair of Ohm MicroSubwoofer 10’s have been in my system now for a few years and have been integrated easily (by ear) with 3 different pairs of speakers (Maggie MMG, Mark & Daniel Ruby, and Ohm ...
