Klipsch Heresy iv...Your experience. The IVs arrived and clearly need some break-in time...however, they're beautiful and have some interesting differences as well they should since it's an entire re-design of the III. I used a Stereophile test disc to see how low they could go and t...
Tony Lewis has passed away...(lead singer/bassist of the group The Outfield) Great singer...was recently watching a movie set in the early 90s called "Hot Summer Nights" (Timothée Chalamet stars) and that song was used well in the soundtrack.
Advice on best mid priced MM cartridge choice for Rega P3 (2016) Sumiko Pearl...inexpensive and sounds amazingly good, well rounded and really gets a lot out of the groove, so to speak.
As much as I try, I just don't get it........ Is a sailing video like sailing? Nope. By the way Mr.D, I'm getting a pair of Heresy IVs soon and as I compare 'em to my IIIs they won't have damped mid horns! DAMN...and I don't have any more of the damping stuff you pressured me into...damn aga...
Klipsch Heresy iv...Your experience. My new IVs are arriving Saturday, and if they're not better than my IIIs I'm gonna be ANGRY...break-in will be allowed, but still...I'll personally contact every reviewer I can find if they're not a fabulous improvement...and I don't use an (a?) S...
The Fastest most musical amp I personally prefer a slower amp as I can better understand what's happening as it gives me time to ponder the music.
Need Tubes My experience with JJ tubes (except a rectifier that works fine) is that they're mediocre at best. A pair of JJ KT77s was so bad in my Dennis Had SEP amp that it put me off 77s altogether until I finally tried a pair of vastly superior new Gold Li...
Budget Tube Preamp ($2000) You think the preamp is responsible for microphonic tubes? Was the Freya + you supposedly owned also noisy in the other two non tube modes? Did you call Schiit about it? Again, nonsense.
Negotiate good price Utterly a Borat parody...well done!
Room Acoustics With Vaulted Ceiling My medium large main listening room has a ceiling sloping up from about 9 feet on one side (where the gear is) to 16 feet or so above the back wall which I sit a few feet in front of...this helps with the sound as the non parallel floor and ceilin...
Budget Tube Preamp ($2000) My Freya (original version bought new a few years ago) isn't now and has never been sensitive to microphonics...a myth from some critics that's clearly nonsense. The tubes can be rolled among all the brands available and, although finding a bad tu...
Thoughts on the most difficult instruments for speakers to reproduce? My now possibly obsolete Klipsch Heresy IIIs are amazingly realistic and coherent, and I listen to piano stuff a LOT. Good gear upstream is key for this of course, but piano sounds great unless it's a crappy recording.
Adding a sub woofer? A preamp output can be inconvenient as unless it's truly balanced (into a balanced sub input...sort of rare unless using pro gear) it can require a long run of single ended cable...not so good. Not sure if "many" subs allow for speaker level input...
Schiit Freya + and reel to reel question Nonsense. The Freya has more useful features than nearly any other tubed preamp out there, at any budget. To record from one you simply take one of the 3 outputs into a recorder and just set the levels. Since very few people record anything to tap...
why a 75 dollar blue ray smokes all 2k CD players and any turntable??? Nobody says "alas" anymore. |
