Pro-Ject turntables The "shim squad."
most clear, crisp sound power amps, monoblocks ? The "live sound" reference idea is lame, meaningless, and should be abandoned. Maybe replace it with "well recorded" or "sounds good to me."
Power supply for Cambridge Audio Azur 651P phono ? You can't use the term "ad hominum" more than once per thread...it's simply not allowed...too florid. I will defend my 640P to the end! That said, I seemed to have prompted a useful response and I can now rest my case.
Pro-Ject turntables Nice VTA adjusters? Do they come to your house? "Bob, the VTA adjuster is here."
Power supply for Cambridge Audio Azur 651P phono ? If I can lead the OP to a used 640P with a P100, or at least share my thoughts generally about the thing, I've helped make the world a better place in spite of the efforts of pretentious and condescending context police attempting to crawl up my w...
What was your first 'hi-end' system? I just thought of another early system...hooking my Altec A7s (look 'em up) I used in the 70s for live band stuff to my KLH system sounded amazing...rare, but man...something about those Altecs was so sweet.
Pro-Ject turntables I am utterly sold on the Rega stuff with the exception of the lack of VTA adjustment...shims...I don't want to shim...no shim...no no no
Power supply for Cambridge Audio Azur 651P phono ? True enough..."seriously nice sounding" should have been "seriously great sounding" especially with the P100 power supply. Snarky phono stage hoarders opinions may vary.
Pro-Ject turntables The 9.2 was blown up in a Jason Statham movie so I give it points for that.
Do you run a high end power cord on your sub? I stuck a "garden hose thick" PS Audio IEC cable on my REL mostly to reward it for doing such a great job. I'm not sure it sounds better, but it feels better and that's enough for me.
Pro-Ject turntables Message to Sumiko: Please send Shubert a 10.1, and also send one to me, and we will say nice things about it so you'll sell more of them...a "win win" I say...
Power supply for Cambridge Audio Azur 651P phono ? They likely ran out of 'em and moved on. It was an Audio Advisor product supposedly designed by a perhaps "in demand" Peter Madnick (Constellation Audio), so I figure they simply finished the run and can't be bothered to redesign the thing. Cambri...
most clear, crisp sound power amps, monoblocks ? Live sound is only relevant as a reference if unamplified...otherwise get a PA system and sit 100 feet from it. My current hifi system sounds great to me, but that's likely due to ear damage and personal taste developed from spending over 4 decade...
Power supply for Cambridge Audio Azur 651P phono ? The 300 bucks or so "combined price" of my 640P/Pangea P100 make some very nice sounding analog. Seriously nice sounding. It surprises me that Audio Advisor isn't making an upgrade of the P100 to offer with the newer 651P and DacMagic stuff since ...
Pro-Ject turntables I would like to find one of those 10.1s if only because it looks so dangerous, but my Linn Basik/Akito rig keeps chugging along...Sumiko Pearl, replaced/upgraded tonearm cable (rat bites in the original...seriously). I recently cleaned the dustcov... |
