I need a subwoofer/sub-bass opinion from you
One of the things that attracted me to my RELs other than the deal I got buying them, is the "high level" input system from the amp, which allows a reproduction of the amp's tone and doesn't require long runs of single ended cable...simple speaker...
Turntable got absolutely crushed by CD
U-Turn audio tables are relatively popular around here with analog "newbies" as they're made in this area (Boston area), they sound great and are easy to use. They're popular in other places also, but hey...All of the esoteric heavy lifting involv...
Turntable got absolutely crushed by CD
I've found that a turntable is the only thing that will play my vinyl collection...you can't cram them into a CD player slot...really nothing else works.
Perfect Path Technologies: Omega E mat
Would a wall to wall carpet E mat combined with E mat wallpaper work? Would it harm mechanical watches?
DIY acoustic panels?
DO NOT use live sheep as, although effective, they're messy and hate being stuck to a wall.
Discontinued equipment that you wish were still here. What do you miss or think will miss?
The PS Audio Humbuster III so my recommending them will make more sense.
If I buy electronics from England, will I need some sort of converter to use them here?
You may have to commit to conversion therapy as you do want to enjoy the stuff.
o EV ELX200-12p speakers and I have a Berhinger X1202fx desk running them
Simply turn the speakers up a little...1200 watts class D should offer plenty of headroom.
Does anyone care to ask an amplifier designer a technical question? My door is open.
My name has zero to do with Jerry Garcia...I borrowed the last names of two people in my office (Tom Garcia and Dave Wolf) around 20 years ago for an open mike thing I was doing, and I kept the name for professional use and to disguise my identity...
Does anyone care to ask an amplifier designer a technical question? My door is open.
You cleverly dodged my (lame and silly) question so I STILL don’t know when I can get my beer, but the answer you provided to the question I didn’t ask is, of course, still relevant. Also, having carped (that’s right...carped!) here about how sill...
Old vs. new
I'd love to find the article from a UK hifi mag (few years ago) where a great case was made about digital sourced vinyl sounding better than CD or other digital versions of the same thing. It made sense although it shouldn't, and I can't remember ...
Official Black Friday 2018 Thread
I always try to remember to play my LP with "Black Friday" by Steely Dan on Black Friday...this has zero to do with shopping but hey...tradition is tradition!
Luxman Class A Integrated Slight Buzzing Noise
A SS amp I use for a backup and/or outdoor speakers (mostly the latter) had a transformer hum that a local repair dude said wasn't fixable...lame...but I found a PS Audio Humbuster III online someplace and that fixed it fine. Although those are di...
KT 150 impressions
I've used 150s in a a couple of amps and I like 'em, but like 120s more for reasons I can't explain thus saving readers from suffering through another explanation. My current favorite little Dennis Had SEP amp seems to work best with Gold Lion KT7...
Does anyone care to ask an amplifier designer a technical question? My door is open.
Dennis Had (alive and well in Apex or Cary or someplace) hand built the best sounding amp I’ve owned over many decades of owning things. The amp’s 2nd birthday happened recently (he signs and dates these things), and I rewarded it by giving it a n...
