Mint lp best tractor for VPI Classic OK, I’ve got the diagram, some corrections. VTA is commonly referred to as the relationship of the stylus to the record - as in 92 degrees. What is actually being set is SRA. I read that the cantilever to cart body was SRA. Not so, my fault.VTA as...
Mint lp best tractor for VPI Classic cleeds -VTA is an angle defined by the stylus and record surface, not the cantilever which can be out of alignment with the stylus - if you want to be specific to the last detail. SRA is the angle of the cantilever to cartridge body and aligns the...
Mint lp best tractor for VPI Classic folkfreak -Yeah, I know what he was referring to. My point was he didn't get my point.
Mint lp best tractor for VPI Classic cleeds wrote "You clearly don't understand VTA, which typically should be around 15 degrees, although opinions vary about the best overall compromise."cleeds, are you talking about the cantilever instead of the cart body?Different carts obviously ...
Mint lp best tractor for VPI Classic jjss49 -My S2P distance was off by 2 mm max resulting in unresolvable sibilance. Whether 1 mm makes an audible difference? Possibly but probably not the problem you are having anyway. If you can align the two null points simultaneously and the can...
Mint lp best tractor for VPI Classic jjss49 -I have the XX2 also but with no (zero) inner groove distortion, using no antiskate. An hour for your first time with the Mint is phenomenal! May I suggest that your cart is misaligned? Check spindle-to-pivot distance before you realign ...
VPI Prime 3D arm making noise The counterweight on the 3D arm has an inner sleeve, probably to prevent damage from the set screw. There are a few posts at VPI forums about the counterweight being not snug enough on the shaft because of it, so the CW could be what's creaking.
What Audio Research preamp would be an upgrade to my LS2B I have a VPI table, the ARC Ref3 and ARC PH7. The amps can be had for under half price used and while they may be the red haired step children by todays standards, they are extremely good and good value. I love being able to tube roll the PH7.

Vandersteen Treo vs 3A Sig as upgrade The Crescendo MKII crushes the 3A Sig and the Treo. I guess that's a blanket in your world. That's silly. You attempted to assasinate my credibility, I see your Vandersteen obsession so overboard as to be delusional. Rude in, rude out."Precious...
Vandersteen Treo vs 3A Sig as upgrade Your unending and depthless devotion to Vandersteen is legendary. There is no comparison between the Treo and 3A Sig vs the Crescendo. Talk about a credibility gap, yours is delusional. Enjoy your precious.
Vandersteen Treo vs 3A Sig as upgrade ctsooner - The Treo and 3A Sig do not compare on any level with the Crescendo 2, price or performance wise. "Destroy" and "steamroller" were not meant in a harsh way given the cost difference and "In another league", as over used as it is, I feel...
Vandersteen Treo vs 3A Sig as upgrade A final follow up. I've replaced the 3A's with a year old pair of perfect and beautiful rosewood lacquered Acoustic Zen Crescendo MKII's for half price (!). Not a fair comparison but they destroy the 3A's and steamroller the Treos. They've got ...
Audio Research PH7 Trivia - There is a (square?) button on the main board to reset the tube hours counter to zero. Two 6H30 power tubes were replaced with one 6L6G/5881 tube because of short life and high failure rate. The 6922 signal tubes can be rolled with outsta... |
