Used amp recommendation My suggestion also would be to get the "matching" Aragon 4004, 8008ST, or 8008BB.Speaking of Acurus, I have owned 12 Acurus amps and none have ever had any issues at all. All dead quiet.Bill
Anthem amps anygood? Not sure how the MCA-20 mates up with your Monitor Audio speakers but my experience with Anthem and Klipsch, which are very revealing, is positive. I think they are reliable, built well, very neutral and detailed, and great bass drive. Bill
Yamaha A-S3000 - any experiences? Both the 1100 and 2100 have a pretty robust power supply that would easily drive a good percentage of speakers produced. Something besides those wood side panels is responsible for their 50lbs + of heft and I am betting on the power supply as wel...
Yamaha A-S3000 - any experiences? How would smaller caps effect sound? Or is it more of a durability/stability issue I am sure using marginally smaller caps alone will not affect the sound quality but it will give the 2100 a tad more reserves and stability when called upon.Bill
Yamaha A-S3000 - any experiences? "Aberyclark I noticed A4L has the A-S1100 in silver which is similar to the A-S2100 but not a balanced design. Would love to see a comparison of all three."I would too. I'd be curious if the 1100 is basically an "unbalanced" version of the 2100...
Denon to Parasound I too think the Denon 4520 will be fine for 2-channel reproduction. For an AVR, it really does stereo music pretty well. I say add the Parasound and see/hear what you get and then go from there.Bill
Protecting speakers in home theatre application? " Willand- What DAC were you using? (The 804s were about 3k rather than 7k back when I got them.)"I am using a Cambridge Audio 840C player/Dac. When streaming Pandora from my TV I let the 840C upsample to 384kHz/24-bit but with Netflix I let th...
Protecting speakers in home theatre application? I can't speak directly about your B&W 804's but the Klipsch RF-63's I have been using since May 2008 have taken everything that I have thrown at them. From very demanding 2-channel music to very complex and dynamic high resolution BD movie ef...
Yamaha A-S3000 - any experiences? "I have a question for A-s2100/A-s3000 users. When you use the "main direct" input, I know the As3000 volume control is bypassed. Basically, you would hook an outboard preamp and use the Yamaha as a tradition stereo amp. My question is that when...
Looking for a $800 - $1500 used high powered integrated with sub outs "My friend recently bought a JL Audio F110 subwoofer. Even though his 15 year old integrated has pre amp outs he tried to connect it and JL Audio said it's a no go."I find that odd that JL would say that. A 15 year old integrated with L/R preouts...
Which Processor? "I just ordered the new Anthem AVM 60. It has HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 full 4K passthru all the latest codecs. It is 11.2 capable and the best part it is reasonably priced." I have been eyeing the new Anthem ever since I read about it a couple of we...
marantz 8801 vs. nad T175HD Dave,XT-32 is at the top of the Audyssey MultEQ chain. SubEQ is an added bonus where you can EQ two subs independently. If you have HT bypass on your preamp, then I would opt for the Marantz over the NAD because of the added features and better Au...
marantz 8801 vs. nad T175HD If Audyssey MultEQ XT-32(with Sub EQ) are of most importance, then the Marantz 8801 is the way to go. Many bells and whistles and from what I have read/heard, great(for a pre/pro) with stereo music. On the other hand, I have been more than very pl...
Supporting Amp/Preamp for Klipsch KLF 20's ? An integrated amp is a preamp/amplifier built into one chassis. Usually of higher quality than a stereo receiver and without a radio tuner. Some have built-in DACs.Take a look at an NAD C375BEE. Plenty of gusto to drive your 20's and within you... |
