NAD C375Bee or Yamaha A-S2000
I would not say that the NAD looks cheap but you are correct about the Yamaha.  The workmanship on the 1000 through the 3000 models is pretty darn nice.  Minimum weight is 48.5lbs and the knobs, connectors, wood side panels, faceplate, and of cour...
Which Speaker System ?
Phantom center is great for the one who sits in the center line with the video screen , not so good for everyone else.Bill

What kind of a setup are you looking to have, 5.1, 7.1, Atmos, etc?Do you plan on running multiple subwoofers?Pre-pro/amp compo, AVR, AVR/amp combo?Budget?Bill
Subwoofer hunt
@willland : in the tristate area what do you have :) Sorry to imply anything but I was wondering where you resided so I could scan your local craigslist for good used subwoofers that might meet your needs.Bill

Budget CD player with USB input
Actually there are a few, IMO.  For the record, I do like the NAD amps but have no experience with the Marantz integrateds.I have the all analog Yamaha A-S1000(48.5lbs) and absolutely love it.  It will run you about $1200.00 on the new market and ...

Kent,I think you may get more and better responses in the "analog" section.Good luck,Bill
Klipsch Palladium P-17b Bookshelf Speakers
I have not heard the P-17B's but have heard really good things about them.  A few guys on the Klipsch Forum own them and have expressed very positive opinions about them.  Some have owned many non Klipsch highly regarded speakers and have been ple...
Upsampling - but seriously folks
I upsample 16/48kHz Pandora from SMART TV up to 24/96 on Cambridge Audio 840C and the results are better to my ears than no upsampling.  I never use the CA to upsample 16/44.1 CD's.Bill
How do I integrate my Equipment..
"Thanks for your response,  Bill. Not really sure I need to add 2K to enhance my system. Also, why the integrated amp with the Dahlquist I have the Preamp.  ?"I do think(know) that a pair of KLF-20's or 30's will be a better front soundstage for ...
How do I integrate my Equipment..
If it were me, I would just get myself a pair of KLF-20's or KLF-30's to go with your super efficient center KLF-C7 for your HT with your Onkyo 805 and get a separate integrated amp for your Dalquists.  Maybe a Sunfire Signature stereo amp(pick yo...
Opinion on Yamaha Amps
While I do totally agree with the NAD integrated amp suggestion, these A-S*01 Yamahas are really pretty solid performers even with nominal 6 and 8ohms speakers with occasional 4ohm dips.  I know the all analog models(A-S1000, A-S2000, etc.) can ha...
Opinion on Yamaha Amps
From all I have heard and read, the Yamaha A-S801 is a solid piece of gear. Plenty of thump and built well.  I have the A-S1000 driving a pair of Klipsch RB-75 bookshelf speakers and could not be more pleased with the combination.  The built-in DA...
Recommendation for Integrated Amp with Tone Controls
I think the Yamaha A-S1000 is wonderful.  It definitely has some real power at "only" 90w/channel and is built like a brick.  Have not heard the 801 but have heard really good things about it.Bill
