Monitor speakers with great dynamics ... experience need it
Assuming you will use a subwoofer/subwoofers with this setup and no budget mentioned, Klipsch Heresy(Heresy II, Heresy III) L-C-R makes a great HT front stage.  Dynamics, tight bass, low distortion.  Your price of entry for triple Heresy I's or HI...
Question on Yamaha seperates. Also the A-S 2000
"Interesting   Just concerned about being soft for Rock and blues"Listened to a little SRV last night on my A-S1000 and "soft" is not what I was hearing.  Thumping bass lines and a screaming Strat with serious authority.  Never fell apart even at ...
Question on Yamaha seperates. Also the A-S 2000
" Was thinking about a used A-S 2000 integrated but have heard that it is pretty laidback?"@geph0007,I can't speak specifically about the A-S2000 but I can about the A-S1000.  IMO, it is far from laid back especially when you put the pedal down. ...
step inside Klipsch fans and fanatics
I don't know how many Klipsch "fanatics" frequent Audiogon but I do own and enjoy many flavors of Klipsch.Bill

No issues with your statement a few posts back.  I was just curious and no doubt $895 for that Marantz is a great deal.  Bill

" How about this Marantz PM-15SI for $895? No affiliation with the seller, it looks like a great deal on an amp that's probably better than the Yamaha you're considering."In no way downing that fine Marantz integrated amp you mentioned, but what ...

What a coincidence, I was just listening to some Steely Dan on my Yamaha A-S1000/CD-S1000 combo.  Each time I fire up this rig I become more and more amazed how it just let's the music flow.  Dead quiet, punchy, very detailed.  Did I mention the b...

Integrated Amp recommendation for $300 that will balance well with Vandersteen and NAD
Very nice amp with the Acurus.  If like all the Acurus I have owned, it should provide plenty of punch, great detail, be as neutral as can be, and run cool.Bill
Introduction
Martin,Nice Kenwood rig.Are you using Heresy I's or Heresy II's?Bill
Is it idiotic to stack an amp and tuner directly on top of a CD player?
Correction in my post above, "no air vents to worry about with player on top of amp."Meant to say, no air vents to worry about with amp on top of player.Bill
Is it idiotic to stack an amp and tuner directly on top of a CD player?
I have a Yamaha A-S1000 integrated amp (48.5lbs) sitting on top of a Yamaha CD-S1000 CD/SACD player(33.1lbs).  No air vents to worry about with player on top of amp.  Feet are positioned about 1 inch off the corners.  So far no reason to think any...
The demise of the music CD inevitable?
Many like myself still love to play CD's but also love the convenience of streaming from PC, server, and SMART phone.  There will still be the used CD's out there that many will still buy.Is it "dead", no but maybe just dormant.Bill
Speaker - Room/size dilemma
If you can tuck them in the corners then Klipschorns would be just about perfect.  Even though McIntosh/Klipschorn would be a great combination, you will never even come close to using all the 2200 has being how efficient the Khorns are.  You woul...
