DO CABLES REALLY MATTER?
I'm not going to read through all 11 pages of this thread, but I did have a random thought and this seemed like the best spot for it...Suppose you had two speaker designers at your disposal, and you gave them both an identical set of a woofer and ...
Anyone receive their Zu Druid VIs yet?
Zu is running a good sale on Druid V right now.  So tempting.  I've got both pairs of my Zus nicely dialed in right now, so I'm hesitant to mess with it, but I've lusted for a pair of Druids for a long time and that's a good deal...
Zu Soul Supreme Recap -- Owners, what are your preferred system pairings with them?
How's the Taboo with no preamp, did you try that?
"Bookshelf" speakers designed to be placed near the wall behind them?
FYI, the Zu Cubes have the concentric tweeters, not the Omen Bookshelf. There are a few folks on here who run Cubes if you search the forum.I haven't heard Omen bookshelf but I do have Omen DW's which I love.  I would imagine the bookshelf version...
Anyone receive their Zu Druid VIs yet?
Zu does not use off-the-shelf Eminence drivers, they are built to Zu's spec and then Zu does additional assembly.  Lots of speaker companies do this.  DeVore has SEAS drivers built to spec.  To me it's like the choice of a chip in a DAC, it become...

Nice... keep the updates coming.  Right now you are carrying the torch on this forum for Druid VI owner impressions!  I've been tempted to get Druids.  I love my DefHeads (top half of Def IV's) to death, and I also enjoy cranking my Omen DW's.  I ...
We give up perspective to avoid tone controls
It is possible to find an amp/speaker combo that is tonally perfect (to the owner), but it is difficult and potentially expensive.  I have two systems, one with no controls (and I have no desire to add them), and one with tone controls (and I woul...
Contemplating DEVORE SPEAKERS (and others)....LONG audition report of many speakers
Prof, thanks for the writeup, that was a fantastic read.  Your experience probably echoes a lot of audiophiles, especially mine... auditioning a lot of gear to find out it's not better than what you already have!  LOLI had the O/93's for a few mon...
Decware and SET Low Power Tube Amps with Hi Efficency Speakers
I would echo seikosha.  Not every room and hi-eff speaker combo will behave the same.  Short answer to your question is that fleawatt SET can be magical.  I run a $140 Chinese 3 watt SET with my Zus in my bedroom and couldn't be happier with that ...
advice for speakers both 300B SET and home theater friendly
OP, if you are considering Zu Omens, I'd wait for the next for the next Dirty Weekend sale (which according to Zu's website is scheduled around July 4th).  You'd be better off paying $999 for a new pair that you can return within 60 days if you do...
Anyone receive their Zu Druid VIs yet?
Srajan updated the 6moons review this week.  Looks like Sean made some final tweaks to the VI, resulting in the delays.

Hi Jon,No way, the Yamamoto is staying put! :-)Actually although I did like the YDA-01 better than the Sig 3, I wasn't comparing them per se as I have two systems.  It's nice but it didn't wow me like the Yamamoto did.  Someday I would like to giv...

Check out this post on another forum:https://hifiwigwam.com/forum/topic/126075-border-patrol/?do=findComment&comment=2209672This user had the same kind of experience, and apparently Gary’s advice to turn the tube on and off periodically worked...

Your amp has 50k input impedance so that shouldn't be a problem.  I'd run it in a little more and then contact Gary Dews if you're not satisfied.  The good news is I saw one sell here yesterday in about 20 minutes.
Missing the Old Days
Zu Omen Def would fit your needs nicely.  Or even Zu Omen Dirty Weekends if you wanted to dip your toe in the water for $999 and trade them in for full credit within a year.  The Dirty Weekends play plenty loud, but Omen Def will bring the squirre...
