Cable elevators When I owned relatively expensive (even used) Inakustik LS-2404 speaker cables, I occasionally heard some interference, and lifting them off the floor definitely helped. I doubt that the interference problem would afflict most cables designs, thou...
Do Your Speakers have LEVEL CONTROLS or EQUALIZERS? (Vintage or Modern) ??? Yes, my FinkTeam KIM have two controls. They are very useful, and the first speakers that I have owned with such controls. This is how they are described in StereoNet: Two level controls are located beside the rear speaker terminals. One is a s...
Plastic sleeves for cd's... I use, and can certainly recommend DiscSox. I also use them for DVDs. Very high quality, though not cheap: DIscSox website
How Do Amps Affect Soundstage? I agree with several of the above comments, and most seem to agree that the lower the distortion, the more accurately the source material, including the soundstage, can be reproduced. Along those lines, I would say that vibration control, and esp...
Denafrips FPGA Firmware Update Burn-in on a software patch? Really? On what basis might that be required? And no, I am nothing like a reflexive skeptic.
New Improved Fink Team Borg Episode 2 Speakers : End-Game Speakers ? Plucking out a single published spec, and writing off a speaker on that basis without ever having auditioned it? 🤣🤣
New Improved Fink Team Borg Episode 2 Speakers : End-Game Speakers ? I find the claims in the above post to be ludicrous. I own the FinkTeam KIM two-way speakers, and have no doubt that they would blow away the "small 2 way floorstanding speakers that cost tens of thousands less" that he mentions. Setting aside th...
So you just took a gummie...What song is on the menu? Song? Nah, the whole (Japanese remastered) album...
Steve Guttenberg finally reviews the Eminent Technology LFT-8b loudspeaker. @magnuman When you make an assertion as ludicrous as this: all speakers no matter how much the cost are crap they're all very two-dimensional sounding and they don't throw a very wide three-dimensional and enveloping sound stage readers will...
Integrated suggestions I (and a few other A'goners) have been quite happy with the (Polish) Circle Labs A200. It is a hybrid amp, but the two Siemens ECC8100 tubes last for ~10 years with normal usage, and require no biasing. You can read users' impressions here: Circl...
Sony TV sound Glad that you're happy! As a related aside, I no longer live in the U.S., and really miss my Salamander rack. Great company.
Sony TV sound I also have a Sony OLED TV, and the built-in sound from the TV is surprisingly good, far surpassing any other TV I've owned. I echo all of this, but still connect through my 2 channel system when watching films, and it is undoubtedly superior.
Monitor Stands - Made of Stone From what I understand there is no such thing as "decoupling". Decoupling suggests we are breaking the rules of gravity, which I find a little disingenuous. "Decoupling" was probably derived by someone in the marketing department, certainly not a...
Monitor Stands - Made of Stone I’ve settled on Live Vibe Audio. Yes more expensive but superior to Townsend based on every review I’ve come across. I’m glad that you are happy with them, but this strikes me as quite an overstatement. In any case, it’s important to note that ...
Vinshine/Alibaba..What to buy and where? Although I moved on from the one Denafrips DAC that I owned, and have mixed feelings about the company, Alvin of Vinshine provided superb customer service, and I would recommend that option without hesitation. |
