The low frequency response is Bass, not Base.
I do get a bit more bass/base out of my subs when I apply a well aged Bordeaux (or a decent micro, dark beer).
Audiopile hyperbole, reference, SOTA, ultimate and more...
I agree with the "smoke free" thought.  I purchased an item that had the strongest cigarette smoke smell that I had no luck in getting out.  Sold it at a loss and posted the info about it having a strong smoke smell as I wanted a/the Buyer to know...
What were some of your early Hi-End audio gear/influences?
I should ad, the Advent 300 receiver was another eye/ear opener.
What were some of your early Hi-End audio gear/influences?
I, like most of you, remember the Advents and Mr. Kloss.  My journey lead me down the path of Dahlquist, Martin Logan, Magnepan etc. This is not a speaker, but the Magnum Dynalab MD-208 receiver was such a superb product and value.
What were some of your early Hi-End audio gear/influences?
Perhaps it was my age at the time, my friends and family that I shared with, or something else,...but the DQ-10 Dahlquist speakers were playing during what are now some of my best times with my closest friends.
Compare Large Advent?
Well, we have all been lucky to be into the Audio hobby in the first place.  Just think, the majority of people out there are listening to music with the sonic quality of a boom box.  An old Advent receiver, a pair of large advents and a good cd s...

I think I am beginning to think like George Burns did.  His home was featured in Architectural Digest, and the writer asked him what he liked in furnishings,  George said "I like to surround myself with things a little older than myself, and it's ...

Whoops, photo wouldn't load.
Rosenut?
Or as Gilda or Baba Wa Wa would pronounce it?
Items for sale here and on ebay without remotes....
Interesting response.  However this is AudiogoN, not ebay.
Suggestions on a decent FM tuner with a variable headphone output?
Thanks to all.  If I could turn back time (nod to Cher) I would have kept the CT-7000 and Magnum MD-108
Older Nakamichi Gear ?? Stasis ??
The SR-3a seems to be the high point of the stasis receivers.  I have owned some of the SR and TA series, the top two, and never liked the variable loudness.
Headphones? I could use your experience/thoughts.
I am thankful for all of your responses.  It is such a part of what is wonderful about this site, and the High End Audio Hobby. Thanks, Jim
Are analog, non-compressed, FM stations a thing of the past?
..or as Cloris said to Johnny Carson once on the Tonight Show, her friends as a youth would tease by calling her Clorox Bleachman.
