Tekton Double Impacts
@shadorne Have you heard any of the Tekton speakers, or are you just a fan of non sequiturs?
Wonderful visit and 5-star customer service at Audio Doctor in Jersey City, NJ!

New Technics SL 1200 GAE
Wow, what a bucket of cold water to the face this thread is turning out to be. I was considering selling my Well Tempered Amadeus to "upgrade" to the 1200G, but if it needs all these tweaks and extras to avoid sounding bright, standing pat might b...

"...I just think invariably you may think about upgrading some part of your system again."Jond has just described the audiophile condition in a nutshell, regardless of what kind of amp you use. :)

Thanks for the shout out, Charles. Yes, I think the Line Magnetic 508ia is an incredible amplifier, so much so that it forced me to reconsider my previous bias (no pun intended) for separates. I do indeed believe that the pre section is pretty gre...

@stfoth It's the real deal. I think there are like eight of these left in the world. You think you've had coffee? You ain't never had no coffee like this!

If you're serious about this, vitop, I have a  New Old Stock carafe that was produced by Sunbeam for military use in the 1940s. These are almost impossible to find, and you have to watch out for Russian and Chinese knockoffs. I can let it go for $...

Fancy shmancy coffee makers are all well and good, but if you are using the stock power cord with those things, your coffee is going to be flat and unengaging, no matter what you put in it. And don't get me started about kitchen treatments.

Thanks very much, audiofun. I saw the GAE on eBay a couple of months ago for $6K, but have not seen one since. I appreciate your insights on the differences between the GAE and G versions. Very helpful!

For those of you with the 1200 GAE table, where did you buy it? I cannot seem to find one for sale...anywhere. Thanks in advance.
Tekton Electon/DI compares to what?
@msommers I'll send you a PM. I've had quite a few amps through the years, some solid state, some Class D, and some tubes. I've heard the big brother to your Pass Labs amps, but not on the Double Impacts. I was very impressed with that amp, certai...

Thanks for sharing your experience, cap. My own experience obviously aligns more closely with that of james_w514.  There are a number of people on this site who have also tried and loved the speakers. Again, audio is highly subjective. What you hav...
Tekton Electon/DI compares to what?
@cap Not sure if your post is directed at me, but if it was, my post was not directed at you. With your total of thirteen posts on this site, you do not post often enough to qualify as one of the Tekton Trolls, even with your enthusiastic use of a...
Tekton Electon/DI compares to what?
@msommers My Double Impacts are driven by a Line Magnetic 508ia integrated amp, a beautiful match in my opinion. I have a Lampizator Atlantic DAC, an Allnic H1201 phono stage, a Well Tempered Amadeus turntable with an Audio Technica ART-9 cartridg...
Tekton Electon/DI compares to what?
@msommers The Double Impacts replaced the wonderful Daedalus Ulysses in my system. Both are great speakers, but I felt that the DI had a superior soundstage  (the Ulysses sounded slightly "boxy" by comparison) and were  much more convincing with r...
