cjlundberg, You never gave us a price range, which is the single most important piece of information. Streamers can range from a few hundred buck to $20,000. I can recommend a bunch of really good streamers in each price range, but won't just sta...
Streamer/DAC combinations
Moonwatcher, First off, the Denafrips Pontus II (or 12th) is a really really good DAC on it's own.....and one of the greatest bargains in audio in my opinion at $1,800. Adding the Pontus II to my humble Node 130 streamer and the Audiolab 6000CDT ...
Preamp power supply capacitor upgrade
I'd reach out to Chris VenHaus at VH Audio (supplier for V-Caps), he's busy but very helpful when he gets back to you....I'd get his input here if it were me. Also I believe his prices are lower than what you mentioned, and he offers a 20% quanti...
My end game speaks.
Every Focal speaker I have heard is brilliantly detailed, and also fatiguing after a bit. My friend loves his, and the hotter highs are his cup of tea. Never heard the Magicos you are considering. If it were me looking, I'd add Vivid Audio and Jos...
The new Coda S5.5 amplifier: It's a "Petite Beast"!
I'm gonna try and get my thoughts together and get an opinion posted here in the next couple of days. Had to do extra work, because I was also breaking in a pair of Clayton Shaw Caladan speakers.....and needed to make sure what I was hearing was t...

Davegolf2424 Upgrade to a good DAC; the Denafrips Pontus 2 (used $1,400 or so), new $1,850 would be a great addition. It will work great with the Node, but is good enough to keep through your next round of upgrades.....and yes this will be very n...

Jay's Audio CDT-2 MkIII, it's a great transport and definitely ups the SQ game. I own an Audiolab CDT-6000 (which is a very good transport), but the Jay's blew it away. It's what I'd buy as of today, but I'd definitely test the Teac 701 as well.  ...

Jfrmusic, Call Doug Dale at CODA, he is easy to talk to, free with his opinions, and an all around great guy. I've spoken to him a few times before and after buying the S5.5, and he was easy to reach.....actually he picked up the phone each time....

laginz, Sorry I seemed to have missed your post. Currently with the Denafrips Hades preamp > CODA S5.5 > Clayton Shaw Caladans, the soundstage is more similar to what I would consider a live performance. Soundstage is outside of the speaker...

+1 for speaking with Mike Kay at Audio Archon. He's a great guy to talk audio with, and he carries some high end brands including CODA and Harbeth. What was really helpful to me personally, was that Mike is friendly with Aric Kimball of Aric Audi...
What do you like to see included in a manufacturer's website?
Large high quality high resolution color pictures (your current site does not do this), make the site attractive (not black and white), site organized by product type (amp, preamp, speakers, etc) not by class (gold series, premier series, etc), pr...

I have no personal experience with the Serene or the MicroZOTL (though I considered it), but the Rhumba Extreme 1.4 is the real deal. In the end I chose the Aric Audio Motherlode XL, but it was not an easy decision....it's really good.
