Looking for a CD / SACD player. Also, tell me about Esoteric
@rbyington71 "A CD is a spinner and a laser so what does a 12k Esoteric do that a $1,200 Marantz doesn’t." I’m not going to waste any time explaining the differences in specific components and the fact that there are a plethora of machines that ...
Time to change
Audiogon may not be the best place for television and sound bars but products like Naims Mu-so all in one systems just might fill the bill for you.  It sounds very good and frankly betters a lot of setups that I've listened to recently.
Mainstream Phono Stages Incorporating Premium Branded PCB Parts - Do They Exist?
Great design and tightly tolerance parts are the key to higher performance.
1990 Radio Shack catalog
I simply miss being able to go the local Shack for basic electrical components/parts.  And not just them, the three or four independent electronic parts businesses that used to operate in the Chicago area.
That Transformational piece of Gear We All Wish For
Purchasing an Esoteric Audio SACD player.  And recently taking off my Ekos SE Titanium tonearm and put back my mint Ittok Black arm.  After many recent updates to my LP12 I realized the Ittok is a better tonearm.

Like restaurants, I like a great cheap eats place that's BYOB and the same with higher priced offerings, where the food and presentation are more refined, I like to find that really special (at least to me) audio component that is both reasonable,...
The joys of mid-fi
If you’re getting enjoyment out of your system, what does it matter what you spent on it? People here enjoy systems that literally were assembled on a shoestring budget to systems well into S-Class territory(pricing) and beyond. On a certain level...

OP, relegated to the third bedroom, grow a pair! Unless your wife is the major breadwinner, you have a say in this! Don’t be meek, don’t be pushed, or bullied around. Put it where you want it; at least a realistic space in your home. A three bedro...
The Horror
Learn to live with what you have.  But really, how much of this uber exotic stuff do they sell?  An acquaintance of mind just recently took possession of a Ypsilon CDT-100 CD player.   They're built to order and took him eight months to receive.  ...
Would you move to a bigger house if you could just to have a better listening room ?
That's a little hardcore for me.  I make do with what I have.  Being an audiophile is figuring these things out as best you can.  Not like a dog chasing its tail.

@antinn,  "the devil is in the details, and oh by the way, the book is now 192-pages."     Boy, now when I want a book put me to sleep, I can retire "The Dancing Chain" a riveting story of the history of the bicycle rear derailleur.
ultrasound record cleaning machine damaged my records
@elliottbnewcombjr "A picture is worth a thousand words. How many pics to tell Neil Antin’s 145 pages of words?"  Yes, it is and that's why I bought a Degritter.  Didn't Paul Rigby in one of his reviews on the Degritter say he washed a record a hu...
How you know your system is improving?
Every day I enjoy listening to it more and more and don't think about or much talk about the equipment.
