I've got a PS Audio GCC-250 on the way. Mistake??
Too true, Avrij.I was just freaking out a bit after pulling the trigger then finding a few negative posts from some forum members around the usual audiophile haunts. I know to take all these with a grain of salt and only my ears will tell me.

Very helpful Nieuwen.... very specific - really apreciate the post.

"Stay amused!" ... oh, I am ...

This is one of the most amusing threads I've ever been a part of... If the amp is properly grounded a static discharge from you to the case is going to pose no threat to the amp. You're erroneously imparting a level of concern here to the original...

Give me a break. Static isn't going to kill an amp.
ELP Laser Turntable & Trickle Down
Of course, Essentialaudio - that was exactly my point! If you've got a PROPERLY aligned modern stylus I don't see why anyone would be concerned a bit with worries of record-wear.The complexity point you make is right on target and why I just don't...

I highly doubt you've damaged anything - hopefully it will stop once you disconnect the cable.
ELP Laser Turntable & Trickle Down
I stand corrected after some research - it is, indeed analog. I still don't get it though... and while I admit you CAN spend $10k+ on analog gear (hell, I could spend $100k... well, I couldn't, but you get my point) I still stand my original state...

Do you have anything connected to the amp that is also connected to your Cable-TV box? If so, disconnect it and see if it goes away and report back.
What medium priced amplifier is best with vinyl?
If you like the Cambridge, a natural choice would be one of the Azur matching amps - 640A's come up all the time for less than $400.
ELP Laser Turntable & Trickle Down
I guess I just don't get it... of course, I've never heard one so I may just be an idiot with an unfounded opinion. Is record wear really that big of a concern anymore? I know I don't concern myself with it. Advances in stylus geometry have come a ...
What medium priced amplifier is best with vinyl?
Many will think this a shill due to the fact that I have one posted for sale, but I'm going to post it anyway. The best integrated phono preamp I've ever heard is in the Denom PMA-2000IVR. It's fantastic to say the least. I've replaced if with a N...
Rega P3-24 Vs VPI Scout.
As insulting and naive as I find Viridian's comments, he is correct about Rega's engineering. They do take the "less is more" approach. However, there are varying effective routes to dealing with vibration - as is evidenced by the quite heavy Tech...
Warmed cleaning fluids
No - I didn't mean paper from the sleeves they are stored in, although that's certainly possible that some has bonded to the vinyl depending on how they were stored; what I was talking about is bits of paper from labels that got mixed in with the ...
Rega P3-24 Vs VPI Scout.
Well, not just a Technics - a KAB mod'd Technics. Although the stock SL-1200 is shockingly good stock. With KABs tonearm rewire and the KAB fluid damper there's no question I'd choose it over either the Scout or Rega. As far as one table working b...
