Sub Questions: Speaker-level vs Line & Crossover S very sorry - I'll repost in speakers.
New Re-Issue Vinyl: Surface Noise, Ticks, Pops.... I guess I was just phenomenally lucky in the 1970's / 80's - I can count on one hand the number of defective records I had to return in those days among thousands of purchases.
Deep Cleaning Records With Steam? Maczurak - you're more than welcome to plop down $150 for the "kit" if you'd like, as is anyone else. I'm merely saying that a large bulk of their cost is the steamer itself. The other items, quite frankly, are inconsequential with regards to cost...
New Re-Issue Vinyl: Surface Noise, Ticks, Pops.... ... if they could make standard $7 records without pops, clicks, scratches, etc. 25-30 years ago there's no reason we shouldn't DEMAND at least the same quality from these "premium audiophile" pressings of today at $30+ each. It's a damn shame that...
Deep Cleaning Records With Steam? Mapleshade Steamer for $45Ebay SteamerI put this over at the VinylAsylum but figured I'd put it here too. You can get the exact steamer Mapleshade sells for $150 on E-Bay for $45. I've ordered one and look forward to trying it out.No affiliation w...
yet another KAB mod question If you look - you'll find that the VTA reading on the collar at the arm lift lever is exactly 2.5mm (I think... I'm not at home to check the exact amount) higher than the actual VTA setting. In other words - if you align 4.5 with the leading edge ...
Outlaw RR2150 Phono Gain w/ DL-160 - 40db or 55db? Thanks for the responses. My gut feeling has been to keep it at the lower setting. The DL-160 sounds fantastic through the phono-stage. I'm extremely impressed with the cartridge and, especially, the quality of the RR2150's stage.
Subsonic filter wish and a solution okay - that's much more clear now. looks like the best bet is the KAB unit - i'm astounded, as was the original poster, that these are not more prevalent in a nicer "audiophile" package.
Subsonic filter wish and a solution What's still there??? The thread? If that's what you're referring to, yes, I know - hence me referencing it in my question. It's not clear to me if what I'm stating is true - that if everything below 80hz is being sent to my one sub via the "sub-ou...
Subsonic filter wish and a solution I've got a question concerning this that was actually referenced in the other earlier thread (yeah, I know I'm resurrecting an ancient thread here!)If I'm sending everything below 60 or 80hz to ONE sub (essentially mono'ing below 60 or 80hz... pro...
Anyone else heard the Cambridge Audio 640P Stage? Thanks for the info Sugarbrie - interesting and smart business model on Cambridge Audio's part. The more I listen to this setup the more I like it - something I could certainly live with long term and would satisfy a wide range of budding audiophi...
Anyone else heard the Cambridge Audio 640P Stage? Hey Bunner100 - The bass does tighten up a bit as the 640P burns in. Here's the thing though, the bass is never going to sound like with the NAD unit - and for good reason. One of the main things that has always rendered the NAD PP-1 unlistenable ...
Up great MMF-9 There are two screws on the base of the arm that will allow you to adjust VTA on the Project-9C arm. Go to www.vinylengine.com and download the manual for the arm - it will show you how. Can't help you with the wiring issue but there are several p...
Anyone else heard the Cambridge Audio 640P Stage? Hi Sugarbrie - it's my understanding that Michael Creek hasn't had anything to do with Cambridge Audio in quite some time. Could be wrong though...I'd be curious to hear the 640P compared to the newer Creek phono-stages. The specs from the 640P do... |
