Blue Circle amp with TSM
I recommend the Blue Circle amp as I have head from other audiphiles whose ears I trust that the combo is quite impressive. I also recommend the Plinius 8200P or a used Sa100. The TSM can be a great sounding speaker and is very easy to set up in a...
Best IC & cable for Bryston B60
Try JPS labs. I used to own a B25 and 4bst and thought they were the best of the cables I auditioned: cardas, DH labs.JPS Labs Superconductor Fx were really quite good.
Power Line Pillow
I use a BC85.1 which I think is a powerline pillow with 5 outlets. I purchased it because at the time I lived in an old apartment and the sound was hazy during the day. Plugging in the 85.1 immediately took the hardness out of the upper frequencie...
Amp recommendation for N801
I second Mcintosh and add Musical Fidelity. The MF gear is more rhythmic and a bit more dynamic but the McIntosh makes up for what it lacks in detail by making music sound quite rich.-Vik
High value floorstanders around $1k used
I second the rec for the Paradigm speakers. I think they are neck and neck with the PSB speakers, try the silver or bronze out. They are a bit dark, but very forgiving of the source electronics. They can be had for a steal even in their high gloss...
Which cd player would I get best bang for the buck
Meridian 508.24 can be had for 1500 and is a steal. At a lower end the Planet/Jupiter is awesome for the money and the original Planet can be had for $300-Vik
Blue Circle BC 3.1 galatea?
I am the owner of a bc3 so take my opinions with a grain of salt, but i can honestly say I am happy with what it does and have no plans of upgrading it. I have heard CJ, BAT, Levinson, Pass, and Naim and can say that the Blue Circle gear takes the...
Diaganol Speaker Placement for Small Room
I have had great results in a slightely smaller room with a diagonal setup. I'm not sure if diagonal setup would ever be a bad thing, maybe if yours speakers put out huge bass. Imaging and bass quality improved dramatically. Highly recommended!-Vik
BC21 preamp problem
You made a wise decision buying Blue Circle. Now you can reap the benefits of your choice. Call Gilbert, the deginer, and he will troubleshoot your problem for you. I suspect if anything is wrong he'll have you send it up to him and repair it for ...
Best Speakers Close to Walls
Look at the Englsih speakers mentioned above and include Naim.-Vik
Grado Platinum VS Dynavector 10x4 MkII
I have had both but unfortunately on different tables. The Dyna on my current Scout and the Plat on my old P25.To me the Plat a bit lumpy and not as coherent as the Dyna. It still makes beautiful music but the tone of instruments seems exagerated ...
Amp for Dyn 25s/tube pre
Check out McInonsh, Bryston, and Classe. My personal favorite would be a BC28, I plan to upgrade to the 25 and bought the BC28 in prep for its purchase. check out www.bluecircle.com. the BC26 maybe perfect for you as you liek a different type of m...
whatz up with hi-end speakers near walls?
A good number of speakers were designed to be placed flush against the wall. I don't like any of them but that IS the way they were deigned.-VikChecj ou some speakers from Linn, most Naim and many other British speakers and front ported monitors.
CD Player to match Classe amp and Kestrels
Try to tretch for the new Rega Planet. It has all the magic of the original Planet, that is the ability to create music, and adds a bit of detail and resolution. Woudl be a fantastic match in your current system!-Vik
Best bookshelf speaker reccomendations?
Well it' s not that they wouldn't be a good match for your current set up it's just that they sound extremely different from the speakers you mentioned, almost all of which I am not a fan of. The pass will do fine with the 25 actually. The 25 has ...
