Help me choose which speakers to buy NHT used. just about any of their small monitors is a tight little fast speaker with beautiful lacquer finish on many. fwiw, you really should listen to a number of different types. with $200 more you could really take a big jump if you do some ho...
Bananna plugs now that's funny. or maybe the 'plug' on the end of the banana prevents the flow
Bananna plugs i try to make sure my cables never go in clockwise direction unless in southern hemisphere and then i run them only at 45 degree angles and 15 degree slants. but never play any music during leap years or spring tides. btw, certain exposed metals c...
Most "Accurate/Realistic" Sounding Speakers? it begs the question, what is realistic. i bet if you put 10 different reviewers in a blind test with 10 great systems you would get multiple responses. also, i love live jazz too and so much depends on the room. tubes or ss, xrcd24 or vinyl, it i...
Speakers in the 1000 dollar range.... as noted above, you may want to consider slender floorstanders as monitors basically take up the same amnt of floorspace. plus they tend to be more stable and may offer deeper bass extension. just a thought. lotsa choices out there, listen to as m...
what can I get by with? i think the made in china 'assumption' is foolish, but if you can find a tube amp with every part made in usa or similarly politcally correct countries go for it... i respect your choice. russian tubes? silver mined in mud pits in brazil by child ...
what can I get by with? i play the kestral 2's with 60 wpc push pull. the k2's are apparently more efficient than the originals.. are you sure of sensitivity value.? if so, the obvious ? is how loud do you need them to play? do you have a decibel meter, if so just do the...
jolida 502b manual bias adjustment did not mean to imply your method was inferior, etc... i was speaking to OP. just wanted to point out that the connections to spikes do not have to be rock solid to get job done. if i had longer tools it probably would be easier as a matter of fac...
jolida 502b manual bias adjustment i use shorter probes and a short screwdriver and have never had a problem. i have big hands as well. i think you may be overly concerned with forcing probes into a real tight and locked position. the probe slots are not top of line but then again ...
Reliable tube integrated for $1000 jolida line is lotsa bang for buck. agon dealer has mod specials. underwood hifi i think...talk to wally.
Buy a sub or ditch my new speakers altogether? Bjesien may be onto something... it can be easy to fall into the mindset of upgrading within a single brand, we are all creatures of habit and comfort. i second his advice to audition other lines. granted, i am not a big fan of b@w but there are l...
Buy a sub or ditch my new speakers altogether? if the lows are muddy or boomy now... a sub will not eliminate that noise. the sub in your case should really be for extreme lows, not to handle entire bass response. also, your amp may not work any more efficiently when sub is added unless you ha...
Can someone help me choose speakers 'our experience' might not mean squat to your ears. listen to as many as you can using your cd's on a similar amp. audiophiles have egos too and tend to push personal faves.. i am guilty of this too... But speakers are highly personal taste items....
Are modern speakers better than old speakers? to op, what do you mean dramatically? take your spkrs to a hi end dealer and do some a/b comps. you will have the definitive answer to the only judge that matters! every hi end dealer i've visted has welcomed customers to make comps with there vin...
