Spilled marinara sauce on wood speaker....
Sounds-real-audio... what time should i get there. does your wife have another cupcake sister perhaps? I am partial to ho ho's and cheesecakes.
Spilled marinara sauce on wood speaker....
i have faced them into corners ala bose 901's and the problem is solved. thanks for all the suggestions. the sound sucks but as long as the vodka holds out i can live with it.
Spilled marinara sauce on wood speaker....
the sauce all over idea is good but i don't have enough left and it is so good i cant bear to waste any more of it on stereo gear. also , to danlib1, i used my herbs in the sauce so i cannot go that route. I'd like to use an organic or holistic ap...

Rwwear, i left out that it was farfalle pasta... i have switched to potato vodka martinis now and the speakers sound better than ever! Also i hardly can see the stain anymore. As I have plenty of sauce left, i will try whole grain penne later this...
What If?
how 'bout a nice pair of single driver spkrs that are highly effecient. many fine choices out there. it would be a good match with tubes and offer a unique contrast to horns. plus, many have thin tower design and would take up small space when not...
Subwoofer Advice For Stereo Music System, Not HT
you have the right idea re sub addition. fwiw, i use the same spkr outs to run to my MK powered sub which has all the controls built into it. i run a thinner gauge wire from the binding posts from a different position on the 5 way posts to the sub...
need help -- budget system for a friend....
NAD nod is good, i would spend at least $400 on spks tho...used. imo, spks are more critical than amps at this price range . avoid low sensitivity models that suck power. fwiw, dont blow big bucks on spk cables, DIY with monster cables and connect...
speakers size/room size
consider smaller monitors on stand and a sub. great imaging and u can taylor the bass to the room. personally in a room that size i think a big full range speaker placed away from rear walll and side walls would be a waste of living space. of cour...
Sub. with full range speakers ?
if your spk specs are correct and placement is good i concur with mrmikesmail post. 24 hz is damn low, i assume that figure is the 3db down spec mentioned. a good sub will reinforce this dip which is rare in music, but, the secondary harmonics fro...
Is there a big difference or am I wasting money?
islandman is rite on. with a sub i cannot see what advantage you would gain. the r/l sound on films does not include much low bass material in first place. is the sub operating during 2 channel use? if not then one might justify the upgrade if ind...
why not use biamped studio monitors?
great question and great responses! i use tubes and transmission line ported meadowlark spks and hi quality cd's mainly, (xrcd etc.). to my ear the sound is more musically compelling than what i hear on studio type systems. all systems have streng...
Buying Bookshelves, I love B&W but....
it's not endemic to 'bookshelves'. suggest you demo other brands for starters. i love great beers... to me , b/w is the guinness stout of british spkrs. try some microbrews my friend and you may be surprised. it's your taste that will decide and t...
Help me build a system
if you are happy with all of them then it begs the question... do i really HAVE a preference or sound i am shooting for?.. 'bout all one could recommend is not getting large cabineted boxes that require significant distance from rear wall placemen...
Sub vs. three way
fwiw, i have have phase time coherent 2 ways and a self powered sub x'd over at 35 hz. my speakers get full bandwidth signal and are not x'd over for sub extension. i do not get any off center sound problems. as sound from my setup from sub is so ...
Sub vs. three way
bob is correct, unless you put a sub in an overly resonant spot like in a corner in a small space, the sound is not directional. your directionality sounds like a function of room treatment, placement, standing waves, and yes in that set up the ba...
