speaker/stand, couple or isolate? I have tried this a couple different ways when I was working on stands for my speakers.I started with a high mass MDF with spikes coupled. Good result, not great. Moved to low mass metal (aluminum) with spike. Bad result. At advice from the wh...
Amp recommendation for Vandersteen Treo CT My apologies for no looking at the Simaudio unit first. I just assumed . Silly of me. The Musical Fidelity M6si is spot on what you are looking for then. Price is exactly $2999, 220w and circuitry that should sound really good with your Treo C...
phono pre-amp being replaced I have a Kleos on a Linn LP12 currently paired with an Art Audio Vinyl One Copper Reference. It pairs perfectly with the Kleos and has variable gain via a dial on the back. This was a step up for me from the PS Audio NuWave Phone converter and was...
Amp recommendation for Vandersteen Treo CT For years, commsysman out in the stereophile forums has been a huge advocate for Vandersteen and Musical Fidelity. He has the Treo's, not the Treo CTs, but has them paired with a Musical Fidelity M6 PRX with an ARC LS26 Preamp and has raved about...
need help regarding new Ayon spirit iii Couple of questions - are you listening in pentode or triode? What are your issues specifically with the sound? Can you offer more nuance?Saying you don't like the PRaT and bass is sort of like saying I hate everything about the sound of this pa...
Separate Phono Pre - $$ before I will hear a SIGNIFICANT difference vs. integrated? MF lx lps at $199 is a steal. I will give that a 3rd! Regarding interconnects, an entry level .5M cable from Kimber or Audioquest is more than adequate for what you need.
Balanced vs RCA between amp/preamp Read third post down from KBK...great explanation. https://www.stereophile.com/content/balanced-xlr-vs-unbalanced-rca-1 The fact that the Marantz units and your sources are not fully balanced means you will likely experience minimal gains vs. ...
What amp is best with Wilson Sasha DAW speakers @rauliruegas I think the MFs vs. the JC1 are technically relatively comparable units. They are similarly priced and are directly competitive in many ways including power, overseas building, etc... I would never buy the JC1s over the MF M8 500...
What amp is best with Wilson Sasha DAW speakers Personal taste but IMO the ARC Ref 10 is the best of the three. I would consider a CJ GAT, Ayre KX-R Twenty or Soulution 725 over the VTL or the Spectral. I think the Arc Ref 10 is best of all of these though.
Isoacoustics Gaia ll footers plus carpet spikes @twoleftears - You would want to use Orea Pucks most likely instead of Gaias as the Gaias get screwed into the speaker or footing hardware. Check out my Olneya stands as this will provide a simple visual: https://verdantaudio.com/collections/verda...
How many turntable’s have you owned? I have had 5:- Technics Auto Turntable - don't remember model. It was automatic and cheap. Sound character was crap with crap filling (sold years ago)- Rega P3-24 with RB301 tonearm & Elys 2 - Sound is signature Rega, all about PRaT with som...
Isoacoustics Gaia ll footers plus carpet spikes I am working on a subwoofer and machining feet was going to cost as much or more than just buying the Gaia IIIs and including them. I have tried no feet and feet, not an alternative but they make a huge difference. As a result, I ship Orea pucks...
Are these damned brands or not good speakers? As someone who makes boutique speakers and am 4 months into my companies existence (we launched at AXPONA), risk of the company going out of business is what makes people anxious. Which I get, but it is lower risk than you think. It costs me abo...
What amp is best with Wilson Sasha DAW speakers jetter, there you go. My preference is a slightly forward sound profile which is what MF delivers. I don’t see Parasound getting a bad rap. Dealers I know that carry it have been complimentary if that is the price point you are at. The JC3+ is...
SET amplifier recommendation 300Bs and other lower powered tubes vs. 805s - 845s - 211s - T100s have pretty significantly different sound profile. The 300B, 2A3, PX25 has this lush midrange that borders on addictive. It is amazingly musical and is what most people think of ... |
